My console is a bit shonky, and I'd like to fix it.
First off the button to open the hatch is missing:

But the hatch itself is also hard to open and kinda gets stuck when you flip it over to the cupholders. The hinge side has been messed about with.
But I don't know what bits I need to replace, I've looked on eBay and can't see where the button actually is?
Any advice would be appreciated.

That silver bolt at the bottom of the gas strut is clearly abnormal and the lid jams in the pictured position unless you really force it down.
The missing button is part of the surround for the window pack switches, so you'd need a complete surround although usually they are sold complete with the switchpack.
Not affiliated in any way - just a local guy to me who have helped with parts in the past and been really helpful. Not overly pricey either IMO

Perfect thanks. I had a look this morning and my eyes near popped out my head at the price of the switch packs. However that dead one from east coast 4x4 looks the part so i've ordered that.
Any thoughts on the lid itself?
Not much help, but my drinks lid is also a bit rubbish. You can shorten the bolt if you want. I think originally it was probably a cotter pin with some kind of split pin in the end. I put an M4/5 on mine with a nyloc nut. I had to buy a new strut, but that didn't seem to help. Don't bother using SGS to refill them, you'll just have to buy new... Someone will hopefully tell us if they ever really worked very well. And having a load of drinks at your elbow is a disaster waiting to happen
The switchpack is most likely repairable (not that you need it at the moment!)... I've only found 2 or 3 in the 30-40 I've refurbed that I couldn't actually repair...
I guess i can have a poke and see, can always resell the switch pack or keep it as a spare.
Seems weird that the whole thing would be dead rather than specific buttons, is there a common fault that takes out the whole thing?
Yeah, there are a few common faults that would stop the whole thing from working. Usually involving corrosion and some fairly minute PCB repairs!
The whole thing stopping is usually a sign that instead of a switch failing on the input side, it's something on the output/serial communication side to the BECM that's gone faulty and that will stop everything working.
