When my front propshaft snapped, the car would no longer go into park.

I’m a visual learner so unless I physically see what needs adjusting, I won’t know. Is it the cable that needs adjusting, or the XYZ switch?

If it’s the cable, what do I do? https://ebay.us/m/SAhzw4
If it’s the XYZ switch, is this hidden/what to adjust? - https://ebay.us/m/jhB24x

TIA.

Does it no longer go into Park or does the dash display and LED next to the selector not show it is in Park? Chances are when the propshaft broke it flailed around and bent the bracket holding the cable so it needs bending back and adjusting. If the cable will still move you don't need to replace it and you certainly don't need the whole mechanism you linked to.

Doesn’t go into park at all. Linked mechanism was just to ensure I’m looking at the right part. I’ll try locating the cable properly. I couldn’t locate it last time I checked. So, it’s the bracket that I need to look at. Thanks.

Unrelated, I am now selling the car and am wondering what is an ideal price to list this for.

Been my daily for ~11k miles, runs fine
Front propshaft replaced ~5 months ago
Engine rebuilt at 165k
Slight front diff whine
Gear selector linkage may need adjustment
Light top-end rattle (lifter/cam) – long-standing, no issues
Needs front and rear discs & pads
Front ball joints need doing
Slight rust on rear wheel arch (hasn’t worsened)
Cat S (corner of rear bumper was cracked)

It owes me £5000, so I have listed it for that, but I'd happily accept £4500. Am I being unrealistic?

Yes. If you sort out the things that need doing, then you might get that for it (although the rust on the rear arch and Cat S marker might still put some people off). Realistically, most people would look at it as a project car so wouldn't be prepared to go much over £1500.

Bear in mind that some of those faults (the ball joints and maybe the discs and pads) should be an MoT failure.
