I have got quite a while had a weird buzzing vibrating noise which seems to eminate from behind the dash or around the lower scuttle area. It appears once you exceed around 50-60mph and will sometimes fluctuate if it's windy, so it's presumably airflow related.

I realised the foam thing had disintegrated and assumed the wire retainer was loose causing the noise, so I ordered a filter and today took everything apart.

Found various issues, multiple missing screws and bad clips etc. so went thru it all meticulously, replaced the foam, reinstalled all the clips and reinstalled all the missing screws.

Quite chuffed with myself I set off to get some lunch and the damn noise is still there.

Any ideas what it might be?

Is it possible that the lower windscreen trim is vibrating?
It's held in with a bunch of little clips. They age and break.
Maybe running a piece of tape along the windscreen edge and a test drive?
Only other thing that comes to mind is a piece of tape on a wiring loom has unraveled?

It's possible. The clips are all intact as it happens, I had to carefully pop them out of the scuttle and refit them to the trim, but if I tap the trim it does seem slightly loose. I'll try some tape and see if that changes the noise.

Tape will improve it, but only for a while !! Guess how I know ?

There are some on eBay, but £29 plus postage for 11 clips ?

That's £29 for 11 USED clips too. I'm surprised that nobody has used a 3D printer to create new ones yet.

I've got to get my windscreen done quite soon so I'm planning on saving the clips as best I can, and having my neighbour who's something of a 3D printer wizard make me some up.
