Hi guys I was directed here by Martin cox who says some great minds may solve my problem, here goes my p38 spat the dummy out and sat itself down about 10 days ago I ordered a lead on Martin's advice it duly arrived and faults were cleared but it still refused to lift so I ordered a recon compressor and fitted that this evening theirs more pressure in the system now but it's still refusing to budge Martin has talked me through the checks he could think of through messages I'm just wondering if anyone has any fresh thinking ? Ps I love my car but it does try me at times lol thanks in advance dunk

Welcome and join the club, we've probably all been there at some time in the past. Mine did it during a blizzard in the middle of the night while towing a trailer somewhere in the middle of France. Actual fault turned out to be a dodgy height sensor but I could clear the fault, hit the unlock ECU button but as soon as I shut the software down and disconnected, it went back into hard fault. I found that if i cleared the faults, hit the unlock ECU and then just unplugged the lead, it all went back to normal. What faults were showing? On mine if I read the faults, hit the button marked Faults (the one that doesn't look like a button) and then read them again, they were all clear but came back as soon as I disconnected. Try it, it might work but you will need to fix the fault that caused it to throw a wobbly in the first place at some point.

Hi the issue was the sensors were out of range as I fitted extended brackets brackets to avoid breaking anymore sensors they were getting expensive 😂 so the car doesn't like being on the bump stops to get the sensors back in range i jacked the car up until they were in range and cleared the faults I left the chocks in to ensure the sensors stopped in range

Marty is probably the man to ask but it may be that your valve block driver (eas computer) is caput. They're a bit dear too. Cheapest on ebay is about £100. There's a complete block and driver for sale. If it comes to it, that might be your best bet then at least you'll either have spares, or something to sell on to recoup some cost.

If it was the driver pack, it wouldn't fail on all channels, so it would still do something, even if only lift on 3 out to 4 corners. Is the compressor doing anything? Is it running on it's own or can you turn it on from within the software? It might be making a noise but is it shifting any air? Unscrew the filter from the end and put your finger over the hole, you should be able to feel it sucking.

He says he's fitted a recon compressor.

possibly one way valves in block? should be enough air in reservoir to lift car without compressor running using eas unlock.

As Gilbert says, stick your finger on and see if it's sucking. Or the other way, stick your finger on the blue pipe and see if it's blowing. Shouldn't be able to keep your finger on it if it's working right.

With the ignition on but the engine off, using the Heights page in EAS Unlock you should hear the inlet or exhaust and appropriate solenoid click in and out when you hit "Up" or "Down" on each corner.

If it's not building pressure it may be a split diaphragm valve, in which case the EAS compressor wouldn't stop running.

Had a picture, with the fault being found...

Hole in one of the rear air springs.... I'm sure he'll post it up to show us :)

Hopefully Arnott's will honour the warranty...

Good old Arnott..... It never ceases to amaze me how the Yanks think they know better than the original designers. With the cars that I've imported from the States over the years we've built up a box full of MSD distributors which Yanks have fitted because they have Made in USA printed on them so must be better than the original stuff. One of them, fitted to an early Porsche 911, was an empty die cast box with 'Ignition Optimiser' printed on it. If you really need the extra 2" because of bigger wheels and tyres, I'd stick a set of Dunlops on it and fit spacers under them.

Hi to be fair at this moment I couldn't agree more if they won't replace the burst bag it would be cheaper to fit dunlops and spacers

Don't think it says the wheel/tyre combination, but on mine with 265/70/16, I just had to set Standard a couple of cms higher to clear on full lock.Extended is as per normal, as is highway. If I need full lock at over 50mph, it's likely that a tyre rubbing will be the least of my worries! 😃
