Hi All started a new topic in the wrong place maybe?
Has anyone in the West Midlands area got a V8 Block tested kit that i can lend?
I've just ordered a shed load of parts and i'm still confused what caused 2 cylinders to get water in and then gas the water when hot.
I'm hoping it is the head at fault and that the overhauled units will fix it but i like to be 100% sure.

Sounds like you have similar problem to me. For weeks Ive been bleeding and have changed the water pump, stat, radiator & hoses. I did a block tester several times which showed negative but my coolant was still blowing out, anyway , Im half way through doing the head gasket as thats my final option but it looks like you are actually finding a few faults whereas Im just hoping still.

What exactly do you mean by a Block Tester kit?
One that springs to mind is a leakdown tester, but that requires your heads to be in-place and intact so that you can introduce compressed air.
Your lump is now in bits so that won't work.
You've already done a sniffer test I think, but even if not, once the engine's headless, you can't do that either

A Block Tester for the V8 is a modified water pump and 4 sealing plates that fit on the block were the water goes in/out.
