I’m trying to get my front bumper off, the bolts at the front came undone with no problem, the side ones seem to just spin, are they just screwed into the plastic that I can see, or is there a bolt round the back ?.
I’m thinking about grinding them off if there just spinning on a insert.
Any tips appreciated.

The bumper slides into mounts on each side - the plastic block (once upon a time, white) is on the bumper side, and there is a metal wire clip that rotates either up or down and clips around the block and bracket to keep it locked in.

The amount of mud/grime that gets over them though can get them pretty stuck, and the wire clip can become a rusty mess.

As Sloth says just flip the clip and slide the bumper out. Its heavy. ideally two person job but I have put mine back on my own using a jack fitted with cross bar to support it. Easiest bumper to shift that I've ever seen.

Usual trap is if somebody has fitted the wheel arch liner with the front flap inside the bumper return edge instead of outside as it should be. Right pain wiggling things out then unless you pull front end of the wheel arch liner. Which of course I didn't as that was far too much effort.

Oh - also, don't forget the front needs to drop down about 1-2cm to release it from the crush cans.

If it doesn't drop when removing the bolts, thump it from the top downwards and it should come free. On refitting, it has to lift back up, or you let the bolts pull it up, but it may take some wiggling to get the pins to align.

Saw this on Facebook the other day: https://www.facebook.com/groups/314522172231316/permalink/703812016635661/

Should show it pretty well

Found the clip, is it just a tug down ?
Don’t want to get to heavy handed and snap something, what grief just to change a washer pump, grrrr,,
Before take out spots is mentioned, screws are knackered..

Should pull down, might need some encouragement from a screwdriver and some WD-40.

IIRC mine weren't done up anyway and I left them undone when I out my bumper back on. Seems to be fine just sat on the sliders and held with the front bolts.

??? Hardly. Easiest one I've ever done.
As I recall it took around 15 minute tops from opening the Snap On box when I did the rear screen washer pump on mine. Including scrambling inside to pump the suspension up to highest level.
Of course I'd had the bumper off t'other year to do the air-con radiator so everything moved. No need to take it right off. Just pulled it forwards a bit and slewed it to make room. Jack under slewed corner to support it if need be. Probably disconnected the foglight that side too but really I don't remember if I did or not.

Aren't the washer pumps accessible with the bumper in place?

Tried that first. Not with foglight fitted. Not enough room to get your hand round to pull clear and wiggle out. Especially as the wrist angle is all wrong when working on the floor.

I got it out ok, but can’t get enough pressure to put new one in.

Silicon grease on the rubber grommets, if you don't have any silicon grease, brake grease (the stuff you use on brake seals not copperslip) is the next best thing. Should slip in easily then.

Once the bumpers moved forward I will get it in, ive removed all pumps from the bottle so I could flush, originally thought that rear washer was blocked, but pump had given up. At least I know the pumps are clear of the jelly sludge build up.

So I got under the car today, flicked the wires round but it’s still stuck solid on the sides, any ideas before I get heavy with it.

They do get grotty and cruddy. Mine got my standard squirt with magic release aerosol twice a day for best part of a week before I pulled the bumper off. Needed a bit of shaking and gentle thumping to dislodge crud but then slid out OK. Correction - would have slid out OK if "someone" hadn't put the wheel arch liner in with tab wrong side of bumper.

Don't think the breed of magic squirt makes much difference if you use the twice a day technique. I claim significant reduction in the amount of verbal encouragement and general grunting'n heaving needed for under-car jobs from the several days of squirt treatment. But then I would say that wouldn't I!

Judging by the state of my rear ones, essentially gone, the slide brackets can corrode seriously which wouldn't help removal. But my fonts are good although clearly original.

My right hand clip is rusted to buggery and the left hand one is still untarnished. The whole lot came off in under 10 minutes surprisingly. Air con condenser lower fastening was the worrying one, came loose in the end though.

Found out why it didn’t want to move, offside wing had been slapped at some point, as it turns under and is fixed, that was bent into a downward vee , the bumper slide bracket was bent in at least 3/4” maybe more, all straightened now and working rear washer, woo hoo. 😁
