As some may know, the P38 door latches, you know, the ones with the microswitches that fail and lock you out, are the same as the MG TF. Rimmers have a one day sale on ex-factory stock of MG TF parts which includes brand new door latches at £24 for the RH and £36 for the LH. I've just ordered a RH one as a spare before posting this so none of you lot get in and clear out their stock. See https://rimmerbros.com/ItemList--MGF-Body-Fittings-Sale--m-19112?src=MGF18

Thanks just done the same plus some abs sensor bushes. Bumpy roads keep pushing the left rear abs sensor up.

The cheap ones look like LHD to me by the pictures they've shown.

Bollocks, just cross referenced the part number and you're right. Oh well, at least I'll have spare innards...... The picture of the expensive one looked completely different to ours though.

Great tip,
but which of these door latches would be for a LHD LH (drivers) side?
I can not identify the MG part number.
Thanks in advance

FQJ102292PMA, the one at £36 is drivers door for a LHD car. If you google search the part number you'll see it's listed as LHD LH door.

Has anyone fitted those MG door latches? Are they straight bolt on or are any modifications required?
Thanks in advance

Straight bolt on. They are identical except they don't have the spurious metal tag that the P38 ones have that serves no purpose other than get in the way when you try to wiggle it out of the door.

Missed this one.
I've been checking this morning (Google & Albrit) but can't find a Rover / Land Rover parts commonality list, so does anyone know the MG part number for a RHD drivers door latch of the 2 listed please? Mines a 99 DSE.

FQJ102262PMA is RHD drivers (RH) door, the expensive one. Better to get one of Marty's refurbs. FQJ102281PMA is the RH door on a LHD car, and is the one I bought, so only has one microswitch and the keyswitch lever is missing. I've done a mix and match with a spare RHD drivers latch to swap the missing bits and microswitches over to turn it into a RHD drivers latch. Just got to get around to fitting it now.
