Is it worth us having a thread to share any good deals we find for things Range Rover related? Tools, parts, mods etc.

I don't have any to share yet (at work with very restricted internet access) has anyone else found anything useful?

My inbox has been inundated with emails from just about everywhere announcing Black Friday deals although most seem to be just discount on stuff they've had in stock for years and can't get rid of. Rimmers are doing 17% off everything at the moment though but as they tend to be a bit more expensive than Island or LRDirect, it probably means they are just down to the same as everyone else.

Sadly much of Black Friday is "over-hyped" of course, something we inherited from 'Retail Therapy Thanksgiving Weekend' of course......
and many/any related 'deals' are available throughout the year. At least that's what I have noted from the Car Parts folks I use...

Edit: Agree with you Gilbertd, much stuff is artificially marked up to be in their 'Sales discounts' offers or is already overpriced !

On cue I now see I have "a special Black Friday exclusive customer-only (etc) offer" from EuroCarParts for a dashcam.....
and I also see it is £5 cheaper elsewhere on e-bay....Apparently "Customer Loyalty" is really not what it used to mean...

Yeah, I tend to agree but occasionally there are worthwhile offers that crop up :)

You're right, hopefully some will be posted up !

The other 'practice' the on-line sellers seem to use more is to initially have genuine good deals to establish a 'good value' reputation....
but they slowly but surely creep the prices up once they have reeled you in..... (eg. they know who you are via 'cookies'...)

And e-bay themselves have many issues these days too of course: Of late I have found a couple of "gems" where sellers send you
something which does not match the photos and then say 'whoops can we offer a slight discount ?' for inferior products. The other
increasing problem is where their sellers are simply 'middle men' (No physical stock themselves but they have stuff delivered directly
from Screwfix/Amazon/etc at a mark up... Worse such mark-up I have found -so far- is 300%.. As ever - Buyer Beware ! )
Big clue here is these vendors often (claim to) have (say) 500K items for sale... ie on-line Buyer Even More Beware !!

Forgot to add that it seems e-bay are not overly concerned by these "practices", but I also note I have also had to use their
'Bad Feedback' and 'Returns' options more this year too (as their 'Customer Services' have also reduced.)

That's enough complaining but maybe we should also have a listing of those sellers/Retailers to avoid too ?

Finally here is a good example: Do take a close look at their 'before discount' prices though... Really ?

How I see Black Friday, they give the other half more staff discount this weekend, which equates to her bringing more crap home, time to hide her cards, lol

I see that Halfords are still operating Black Friday deals until Midnight.... https://www.halfords.com/advice/cycling/brands/black-friday

Hmm.... I might get some clips as I am getting tired of tucking my pants in my socks....

To be fair it may just be the bike sales that are keeping them going: On-line sales will eventually hit the Retail Parks, not just the High Streets ?....

Ok, to be really fair I just checked out their deals (ie. beyond all their oil and kiddy seats 'offers'...) and found a Michelin Cordless Inflator.. £60
and on e-bay some (chancers) wanted £80.....

Not everything can wait for delivery though, Some stuff it simply isn't worth getting delivered either. Though it did seem fairly dead in the Thetford branch today when i ended up in there for a couple of bits where we discovered tools wouldn't fit in the space available on the first visit, and then had to go back and replace the new antifreeze that had been dumped over the road thanks to a spring clip on a hose that had decided it didn't want to do its job anymore.
