Bit of an odd mix I know but does anyone have part numbers for the foam that lives under the bonnet lock panel and over the A/c radiator? Couldn't see anything in the parts book.
Also is there a reason for the wire cover over the chassis mounting nut on the panhard rod?

The foam comes attached to the condenser and causes the corner to rot away and all the refrigerant leaks out. It's the thing that everyone leaves out when they have to replace the condenser. The wire loop is to prevent the nut from falling off, a lack of panhard rod would make the handling decidedly iffy.

But the wire cage wouldn't stop the nut falling off, i think it's a bit of a superfluous design- right up there with putting two ends of a wire around the diff dampers mounted on the same bolt and expecting that to stop the damper from falling off

the diff damper thing is because the damper is held on with a rubber mount. If the rubber fails, the wire stops it vanishing out from under the car and thru someone elses windscreen.

After changing the rear diff on mine off I'm pretty sure that the steel bolt goes right through the rubber bush.... http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1234/87921/88041/6925 But if it doesn't then what you say makes sense

it'll be like an engine mount. there will be two studs moulded into the bush, one poking out each side, but the only thing in between is rubber.
