Guys,

I need to change No6 injector as its pushing way too much fuel out of the leak off pipes.
I know its manifold off etc, not a problem, but I dont really want to remove all the high pressure pipes as it can be a bitch to start again.

Can I just loosen and move 1 pipe?

Thanks

Not overly familiar with the diesels but if you can get access by removing just one pipe then go for it. As for difficulty starting afterwards, just leave the injector end of the pipe slightly loose and covered by a rag and crank it, should bleed the air out pretty quickly.

That's what I'm thinking. It's why I don't want to disconnect all of them.

I have a feeling it's not going to be that easy. The issue is at the pump end connections :(

I did that job recently for a compression test and re-seated all the injectors while I was in there. The problem is that there isn't really any give or flexibilty in the pipes, it is much easier to access them in sequence, I can't remember where in the sequence no.6 comes but its one of those jobs (imo) where it is easier and quicker to bow to the inevitable in the first place rather than spend time trying a work around. Restart isn't difficult, theres a banjo bolt you slacken off and it primes most of it.

Well worth getting new inlet manifold gaskets btw, if they are original they will be cooked by now.

Looks like I'll be taking all off then :)
Cheers bud.
Already have a set of gaskets as I keep 1 set in hand.

May as well change the other one that's weeping a bit then.

The answer to my question is, yes you can take off individual pipes. Just unclip the plastic brackets on the pipes. They will probably break, but can hold together with a cable tie.
