Hi Guys,
can anyone tell me if the sunroof from a L322 Range Rover will fit into a 1995 P38? Mine is rusted out around the frame that holds the glass. And the only one I can find at the moment is one out of a L322.
Thanks,
Alan

Don't know for definite but I wouldn't have thought so. The sunroof on a Classic is the same size as the P38 but has a different curve so is high in the middle.

Hi Gilbert, OK, thanks. I might bight the bullet and buy the one for sale over here. I see there are some P38 ones for sale in the UK but with the exchange rate and freight and the risk of the glass getting broken. I would prefer to buy one over here in Australia. Regards, Alan

You can ask the breaker to take the glass off and ship it without - if yours is fine, of course, but the problem of the large, heavy and awkward size remains. I have the same problem, you be better off searching high and low locally, and then get your hands very (very) wrapped around a repair/rebuild kit.

I tried the eBay 3D printed rebuild kit and wouldn't recommend it. Some people have been successful spending hours filing the plastic to make it fit. I filed for some time and decided no amount of filing could ever make mine fit.

I spent 2 days filing and fettling until it all seemed to move smoothly. Opened the sunroof to set it, working perfectly, pressed the button to close it and there was a healthy crack from above my head and it didn't move any more. Bought a complete unit from a specialist breaker (and did the headlining while it was out).

Same here, wasted two days on that. Did not manage to break yet, but it does make sinister creaking noises and to have a sunroof and don't use it ....
