Another polybush hiding.

Had a little pre MOT natter and front brake lines look OK. But rear will need doing.

Mostly inside needs to be finished and put together.
Once the keyfob is repaired that will help cut down on any error messages aswell as buying a new battery to keep the ecu's happy

Yellow Polys!!! It must handle like a blancmange......

Early cars have the rear brake pipes running along the top of the axle, easy enough to make up new ones in Copper/Nickel. Check the ones that run from front to back too. They have inline connectors below the brake modulator on the bulkhead, then run down the car next to the chassis rail before going up and over the fuel tank and appearing at the hoses that go to the centre of the axle. They are not easy to see but they rot out too.

Hello and welcome.

If you're playing with brakes and want new flexis, bear in mind '95 and '96 are different from '97-on.

Thanks again guys

I didnt know they where yellow to be honest (colour blind)

But its a blamonche at the minute with it being manually raised to off road height.

Can anyone give me a rough distance from wheel centre to wheel arch just so I can manually drop them.

Good tip aswell on the brake lines. Il give them a good check over when I get it back up in the air too

Around 47cm from centre of wheel to wheelarch for standard height, around 4cm lower for motorway height.

Thats great help.

The suspension is butchered at the minute with manual inflation valves added to each pipe.

I will strip and refresh the compressor aswell as the filter and dryer. Then re connect and see what the original issue is.

I already have 4 new air bags ready to order come payday and refresh the shocks aswell.

Then I will see why it was butchered in the first place.

I'm a fan of air and enjoyed the basic form on my D2 and like the set up on my RRS also

You weigh 134kg ?? That is nearly 300 pounds in real money. Is that why you have that moniker?

Im sill working 6 days a week but my body is use to that

Another reason to get rid of the poly bushes.
You sound like a number 8. You are in my team anyway.

Number 8 would be an easy day at the back. Sadly God made me as a 3 and always a 3 haha

The poly bushes that are in. Is that colour really soft??

Whats best to replace them with

Original rubber. Depending on what polys you get they are either too soft or wear out in a matter of months (and are too soft).

Thanks for the heads up.

Thats something else to add to the list

Il start putting together an online list now.

Question regarding the eas compressor.

The lines on mine have been cut with manual inflation added. I want to rebuild the compressor and re sync the lines.

Do the lines have to go in certain ports as I noticed they are numbered

Yes, the ports are numbered and the pipes originally would have had coloured sleeves on them. See here

Get rid of those yellow shitpart bushes, the PO had put them on mine, as Richard said, not exactly the best things ever made, and as they get older they get worse, just fit originals and see the difference
