On Sooz '02 Vogue both door mirrors dip perfectly when you select reverse. Coming out of reverse only the right hand (driver's) door returns to the normal position.
However, the passenger door mirror can be set back where it should be using the controls in the centre console. But it's a ball/ovary ache.
Ideas, please.
Give the mirror a thorough work out to try and clean the pot tracks and wipers.
If that fails try adjusting the normal position of the mirror just slightly but obviously still acceptable.
As Garvin says, it's the feedback pot in the mirror so it doesn't know where to return it to. If giving it a workout doesn't work, you can just turn the feature off.
Playing with it just now we have an additional symptom, we can't store reverse dip.
Non reverse memory stores, so both buttons are working. As soon as we engage R, it won't activate MIRROR DIP STORE.
As well as being in reverse, the engine has to be running otherwise you hold the Memory Store button to cancel the reverse dip feature.
On the RRS this feature can be turned off so mirrors will not dip when going into reverse. Is that an option?
Yes it is, ignition on, engine not running, in reverse gear and press and hold the Memory Store button. Message centre then displays Mirror Dip Off.
