Does anyone remember which bearing race could be used to squeeze the bushes in
I know of a bearing race to enlign front drive shafts and the hub, are you thinking of that?.
If not, I would like to know too, for the future.

Cheers Dave, I have done them before using the bearing taper, 12 mm studding and pieces big enough to pull it through
I still think it needs a section of pipe welding to it, to guide the bush in.

The main guide is the studding you use, whereas if you use the press method then.you definitely do need the pipe as a guide to feed the bush... But I have no welder/ welding skills...It's also key to get the right sized washers for driving the bush. Prior preparation prevents piss poor performance is the key mantra for this task. That and an sds drill with hammer action, to remove the axle bolts

I take your point. but I struggled using a press without any kind of guide and ended up knackering a bush, so my thoughts are colored by that.
I think Marty said the official tool was 70mm tall so welding a length of pipe on would make it closer to the official desgn.
As an aside I bought a cheap welder on Amazon a year or two ago and it has been brilliant. Made in China, inverter type with digital readout.
Teach yourself. I did.
