I’ve just been running quotes for mine (2001 P38 4.6 Vogue) and cheapest is Aviva at £155.90 with lots more up to where it tails off at £250.00! So, no, not seeing huge increase.

I insured my project P38 last October. All the usually suspects (including other P38 insurer) wanted well over £600 which was double the previous year. Eventually found Grove & Dean and got cover for £219 which is not bad for where I live !!

Hi Karl, glad to see you are still around. Insurance is one concern I have at the moment. Dina, my partner is currently paying £163.50 for fully comp on a 2007 Mercedes SLK280, a two seater sports car with 231bhp from a 3.0 litre V6. But she wants to claim the Rioja Red 4.0SE P38 we have just picked and is talking about selling the Merc. Now the 2007 SLK280 is the worst to get from the point of view of road tax as it is rated at 227 g/km so, as that is over the 226 g/km for the highest band, she is currently paying £59 a month in road tax. The 2008 model of the same car has been factory remapped, produces the same 231 bhp but has CO2 emissions of 225 g/km so the road tax would be halved. The P38, being a '98, is on the flat rate of £26 a month but what is her insurance going to be?

Maybe our petrol is cheap compared to yours but in British Columbia I’m paying about CAD$1100 per year (about £640) for my P38. It’s been about the same for several years. The Disco is about the same.

yeah I am still about
my missus was paying about 800 quid a year on our 4.2 v8 when she went to insure it last month as been of road thats when the price came in sky high
my neighbour has a p38 2.5td and his insurance is about 500 a year I think and that's with multi car insurance so his isuzu pick up is on that insurance to
