Hello, I know there was a post on here late last year on this subject but I can't find it now ...

I'm looking for a friendly soul willing to receive some small parts for me and then forward it all to the US.
Specifically I'm looking at new EAS NRVs and a set of blower motor resistors. The parts are small and I'm not in a hurry.
The issue I'm having is the seller of the NRVs won't ship out of the UK. I'd also like a few sets of Valeo blower motor resistors which are very cheap in the UK but very expensive to ship or unobtainable on the US side.

Wow, have you found a source of new NRVs?
I could probably do the international shipping, there's a franking machine at work which will print the relevant labels. I'll need to pay them back of course!
I won't be able to do customs declarations or anything flash like that so you might want to check out the implications - I've no idea what shipping TO the USA will mean for taxes/import duty.

I've sent 3 of the Direnza alloy radiators to owners in the States. Even with the £105 shipping to the US they still worked out at just over half the price you can get an equivalent over there. If going for export you shouldn't pay the 20% VAT (tax) on the prices but if shipped to a UK address then you'll have to pay that then the carriage on top. US Customs don't charge any import duty on anything with a value of under $500. Customs declarations are pretty straightforward once you've done them a few times. The paperwork involved when I shipped a $90,000 Custom Chevy Camaro was a bit interesting though.

I've actually thought about trying to set something up with sending parts over. The sort of things that we can get here for next to nothing but cost a fortune from the US suppliers although it seems that just recently quite a number of owners over there have realised that ordering from the likes of LRDirect and Island 4x4 isn't difficult.

I do indeed have a source for new NRVs, I've bought two sets before as a test run and they're the same as the OEM units. I'm buying these now really just to stockpile them. I'm not going to post the details publicly but I'm happy to share the details if anyone DMs me.

What is you you send Paul? Customs get upset with certain descriptions and simply putting Car Parts isn't accepted for some reason, you have to put exactly what car parts you are sending.

I had to take apart 3 Valve Blocks to get enough good NRV's for one good one. How much are they selling for? Another set to make myself another good valve block would be nice.

Quite a bit of fiddly work involved if someone is making them manually on a lathe.

Maybe a retired watchmaker?

All sorts, 1/6th scale model tanks, Bultaco parts, i'm even about to send a half human skeleton. Never had a problem before.

I know sending "car parts" domestically some carriers don't like either - the reason seems to be that some car parts aren't allowed - Airbags, glass panels, seatbelt tensioners, some carriers also won't take tyres, steering wheels and other things. I'd guess its a combination of that, plus customs if they are looking to calculate duty etc like to be more precise as to what they are dealing with, potentially without having to open said package in most cases.
