Is this after you have started it from cold? Could be the evaporative valve opening and dumping lots of petrol vapour into the inlet manifold.

sounds like manifold gasket or something similar if its cutting out continually it could be cracked catalist.

Thankyou for your replies she has done it twice now both times after she has run for a bit then Mile or so after restarting she is not running as smoothly as I would like at the moment? If it was the manifold gasket would it be an intermittent noisy?

Intermittent nature might indicate electrical issue - CKP ?

When the crank position sensor starts failing it will usually cut out when it gets hot but restart once it has cooled down, it wouldn't normally restart immediately.

yes they can be intermittent at the start but become more prominent with time... if the cat is damaged it can pressurize and blow the gasket out and cause running issues. check around all the manifolds and joint areas with a piece off flexy hose up to your ear and listen for a fluffing sound.

Great tip will do that, cats were changed two years ago.
Are all new crank case sensors the same or would oe parts be best?
Is it a long job to change it?

GEMS and Motronic CKPs are different: GEMS are ADU7342L on e-bay.
'OEM' at twice the price: eg. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ADU7342L

No, just the two bolts plus that (slightly fiddly) blue plug....

There are different ones for GEMS, they are VIN specific. Make sure the part number matches your VIN.

The noise is not that often only happened twice now. Part has arrived today so will fit it tomorrow as the weather looks to be dry.
