Ah that's right. You went from LPGForum to there but very rapidly got steered this way.....

Actually RRTH has been remarkably civil for the last couple of days (maybe he's reading on here and found out what people won't or can't say to him directly) although if anyone fancies trying for a banning, maybe they would point out that he's given a civil answer that is completely wrong. Someone asked which coolant sensor is the one that the engine ECU takes it's reading from and he was told the green one. Completely wrong, the green one feeds the temperature gauge on the dash, the black ones tells the ECU what the coolant temperature is. How do I know? Easy, I broke a wire of the plug for the green one and my temperature gauge stopped working......

Yes he does that, throws 'a total hissy fit' (and his weight around) unnecessarily and then behaves/acts more pleasantly (for a little while anyway)....

My suspicion now however is that he has realised that at some point somebody angry enough at him will send the information on here (and that he can't delete/change) to VerticalScope...RRnet's owners (well part-owners anyway, they sold 56% in 2015 to another Toronto-based Group TorStar): http://www.verticalscope.com/

Interesting reading too; Only 130 employees but after ~15 years of Acquisitions etc they own 600+ 'Enthusiasts Sites'.... !

rrpub is owned by a rabidly lefty Scottish Nationalist anti-capitalist and is most definitely Not For Sale. VerticalScope can fuck off.

Yes, and hairy legs too. Throwing poles now and then. But the reward is there: a good malt. I think I like you guys.

I just posted some answers to questions, a couple of comments on other threads and a question on the other site. Just to be neighbourly, like.

I notice in one of them, this comment seems to have slipped under the RRTH Radar System...so far

"I have all the components to do the EAS except for the Rover Raiser which I've been waiting on since April last year.
Funny I was thinking today about giving the guy a call to find out where mine is."

That's what lots of similar enthusiasts sites have said Gordon, however.... http://www.verticalscope.com/automotive/site-list.html
(even though many of the members of those sites subsequently complained about all the adverts / cookies /vendor push etc to
the detriment of the previous tone/content..)

That reminds me: I sent VS a note once asking why they tend to use a common 'Search' platform that does not actually recognise
all Three Letter Acronyms when so many cars use these, eg. EAS, CKP, ABS, ECT, ECU etc etc etc: They did not reply (of course),
but maybe that was just their 'big-corporation customer-friendly' way of telling me to 'Ef Off' then ??

It's probably academic but i also meant to post up their primary 'Rules Of Use' too:

" You may not:

* Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Web Site.
* Use the Web Site to impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
* Interfere with or disrupt any servers or networks used to provide the Web Site or its features, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of the networks we use to provide the Web Site.
* Use the Web Site to instigate or encourage others to commit illegal activities or cause injury or property damage or interfere with business interests or contractual relations of any person.
* Gain unauthorized access to the Web Site, or any account, computer system, or network connected to this Web Site, by means such as hacking, password mining or other illicit means.
* Obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available through this Web Site.
* Use the Web Site to post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, provincial, national or international law.
* Use the Web Site to post or transmit any information, software or other material that violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material that is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or rights holder.
* Use the Web Site to post or transmit any information, software or other material that contains a virus or other harmful component.
* Use the Web Site to post, transmit or in any way exploit any information, software or other material for commercial purposes, or that contains advertising.
* **Use the Web Site to advertise or solicit to anyone to buy or sell products or services**, to cease using the Web Site, to visit another competing Web Site, or to make donations of any kind, without our express written approval.
* Gather for marketing purposes any email addresses or other personal information that has been posted by other users of the Site."

Looks like the 'solicit' rule - next to the last one on the list - has already effectively been broken numerous times by Toad & co... ?
If so maybe he should ban himself for life now ??

From other web info. and the size/membership of RRS.net I also suspect he is paid about $1.5K/month for his 'contributions' (?)

I'm not sure how VS managed to convince them to join up. I'm not in it for the money and rrpub is currently hosted on a server that would likely swallow all of VerticalScope's traffic quite happily, which is kind of overkill really. If rrpub starts getting enough traffic that it's costing me real money to run I'll come and ask you lot for a donation - it would be a nice problem to have :-)

I have considered running some branding for a couple of "well known" supplier sites if they'll give us a bit of a discount or some merch or something, but only if folk are generally okay with the idea.

I'm not inclined enough to know the technique behind it, all I know is that when I'm over there my processor's fan starts howling like a jetengine and all becomes very slow.
What a relief being on here. (and yes Gordon you're welcome with your request when needed)

Or he's trying to get rid of a load of second hand crap that he's had cluttering the place up for years that nobody will buy because he's asking stupid prices for it.

He does say he won't send stuff outside the US and there's no warranty either (so you can be fairly sure nothing will work properly).
