OPEN SESAME!!!!

Access was gained by cutting the door card behind the handle and using Marty's instant recall of the wiring loom to trip the locks. Marty, Bob says you're a genius :)

So, we think we have the problem... but tests to follow:

Glad I could help...

That looks, erm... a bit nasty... I would double check the connectors in the door loom aswell to be sure. If it is a failed outstation (it's a rare occasion! they are generally pretty reliable!) then they are cheap enough to replace.

I hope there isn't too much damage to the door card :(

The door card was cut behind the handle which gave Bob enough space to get to the lock pigtails so it should be OK. Sadly the seat took a hit from the hot wire :( Nevermind, having a working door will make it all worthwhile!

I know I said I didn't want to spend Summer Camp cleaning seats but I do have all the repair stuff. We can have a go at fixing the damage if you like. Stick up a pic of it.

That's a kind offer! Although I'm not sure how deep it goes or how much you can fill without the filler cracking so maybe just a light sand followed by dyeing would be realistic. Anyway, here's the photo.

Chris, that's kind but I've already ordered one. It was only £8 - hopefully it's the right one!

As long as it's High Line, then it should work fine..

That should be a relatively easy fix Moray. It's not too deep

Worst case, I probably have some spare 5 bar seat bases on some of the other interiors that I've accumulated - I know I have at least nearly 2 lightstone sets of seats, and I'm sure one of them is 5 bar.

Since we know how vile and close to puking it makes Mark at the thought of doing seat cleaning/trimming - you wouldn't then want to have vomit to try and get out of the Duchess' carpet or ECU's under the passenger seat!

HAHAHA :)

Well, either way - thanks to you both for helping me out. Extra burgers for you both!
So.. we just need to set a date for summer camp?

Sooner rather than later would be good for camp. Need to do it while car still works. Don't want to do it in a rental Corsa though.
Back in diff fix country tomorrow...

So Marty will have to change his usual advice that door outstations hardly ever fail to door outstations only fail when they get jealous that everything else on the car gets regularly cleaned and polished but they get ignored.......

hahaha, yeah. Or if you polish it so much the door outstation gets flooded ;)

Yeah... another reason I don't clean mine....

Still, that's probably the first outstation that I've seen that has failed in YEARS... you do like to be a pioneer with random faults :)
