I think you can probbly tell I’m a mechanical engineer not an avionics one! I’m avoiding the wiring at all costs.... hoping some wiring fairy comes along I suppose lol

Can I run my filler to tank line with the poly pipe and faro fittings? I’ve got enough and I’m really not happy with the way the copper pipe turned out as I had to bend it by hand. Can’t see anything in the Code11 to say no, but again it doesn’t say you can either!

Why doesn’t the P38 need the RPM sense wire? Not complaining with less wiring to do, just curious.

Regards everyone.......... time for a Beer!

When I did connect the rpm wire on mine (Thor Disco), and had rpm detection switched on it would switch back on the overrun to petrol. Simon when checking it over sorted that by changing the RPM detection method, the upshot of which was the rpm wire was made redundant (senses off injector timing instead i think was what he said).

The 8mm faro is fine for the filler (mine is using that) though i do find its a bit slow to fill up, JIC filler hose thats on the other car fills a bit quicker (or it seems like that, although the tank on that is less than half the one on the disco is, pumping over 100l seems to take forever)

Don’t know what size hose is on my filler, but it chucks it in at a rate, most I’ve ever got in was 86 Ltrs, so I suspect it’s a 100 Ltrs tank, in really cold weather if I’m empty, it can take forever as the pump runs really slow until about 25-30 Ltrs then takes off.

Nice job but one thought occurs. Why didn't you run the wiring to the tank in at the same time as the pipe? Now you've got to grovel under the car again, with the associated crap in the eyes, to do that.

I think it's almost time for another Miles/Litre on LPG thread :)

Sorry forgot to say, I did run the wiring at the same time, I was just so hacked off with it all by the end I didn’t take any photos! Basically zip tied the loom to the pipe along the length then it’s tied up about of the way for the moment until I get around to fitting the main loom

On most vehicles including P38s I just tape wires to end of pipe before routing pipe. When pipe is routed I tie wires to pipe as I fix pipe with pclips. Had more than enough crap in my eyes for 20 lifetimes! Can't do it on all models of vehicle but can on most, especially easy ones like P38s ;-)

How's this going?

It’s almost done. ECU is in and all the wiring is now done, except the live wire as I figured there’s no point hooking it up till I’m ready to commission the system. Everything is ready to go. I’m not really happy with the way the ECU is just in the gap wedged with some foam though so I want to get somthing sorted to support it properly. May just be a case of sticking a couple of holes through the plastic and bolting it up.

Just got the inlet to fit now, but it’s been manic here at home and it’s just finding the time to suck it up and do it.

Main thing is that I’ve got leaky rocker cover gaskets and I’ll change them while It’s off but I want to restore the rocker covers at the same time, so it’s just a case of getting around to it.

As I’ve started cycling to work now it means I can take my time with parts and restore them properly.

I did my rockers, was only a quick job, but they came out ok

Was a rush job, I’ve since done my spare set, sand blasted then painted and polished, tried red, yellow, then went back to black, lol
Used a wire brush on drill, and sanding disc with 800 grit across the top to get as per pics

ECU would be fine tbh, for it to cause a problem in an emergency the bonnet would probably have to come off first and at that point a flying ECU is probably the least of your problems. But sure it's easy to make a hole through the plastic box and stick a bolt in, easier if you've got small hands or use a bit of grease/wire/elastic band to hold the nut in position. Live wire to battery as you'll have connected the injector live (ignition live) up at same time as wiring the injector breaks? I don't remember what injectors / nozzles / pressure you went for?
