What would happen if I were to just swap out a later model Wabco brake modulator with the one I have? I own a '96 P38 & it definitely has the clicking brake signal. I have Russell's kit, but I don't have the patience/ability to pull a modulator out & rebuild one (where I live there is an ordinance against working on vehicles in our driveway & my P38 is lifted & doesn't fit in my garage. And my mechanic won't pull the modulator & rebuild it, or pull it & give it to me to hopefully rebuild -- he won't let my P38 sit on a lift (though he might over a weekend). TY for any advice.

If it was a petrol car, up to 98 model would be Wabco C, 99 and later would be Wabco D. I would assume the diesel changed at the same time but can't swear to it. Wabco D has 4 wheel traction control if that gives any clues.

I have a 96 petrol, and am dreading doing the Russell brake actuator rebuild. What would happen if I just put in a later Wabco unit (I have one off a '99 and another off an '02). TY

If you've got a Nanocom or access to one, you can tell the BeCM it doesn't have a sunroof, then it won't work but won't give the sunroof not set message either.

Hi Richard, I thought I had played with all the options on my Nano....where can I do a sunroof delete for my 1996? TY!

This is my 1996 4.0. Willow Green, just about to hit 54k miles. Definitely not stock. I own/have owned five of these and this one is definitely my favorite. Lucky8 Terra Firma lift, Terra Firma sliders, custom front bumper, Direnza radiator (courtesy of Richard as they are impossible to buy here in the states), and the rack is a cut-down LR3 from Front Runner on some custom rails that I designed (and used to sell on ebay). Lots of other non standard bits. Glad I found this forum (after being banned twice (for absolutely zero reason) by RRTH on rr.net). Spent this AM replacing my door actuator......there is always something with these.1996 P38
