Some time back it was sluggish, at roundabouts and lights, and even in reverse it had no snot at all, for years I asked ppl what it might be no one had a clue what it was, until I changed the maf sensor, then it was a different beast

I find it ok getting off from a standing start, but others do find it slow, I think I am lucky in that its a good engine
