What's the max speed for the low range box gears?

Owners manual and google don't reveal the secret

No torque converter lock up in low box so max speed will vary. Engine rev limits stay the same.

i used it yesterday cause the weather became rather horrific in a short space of time and had to go and retrieve the kids from school and the Mrs from work. The most part as good but i decided to experiment with the low range. I assume 4 is the Drive of low range but, i had to give it quite a bit to get it to change a gear. Didn't seem happy going over 25.

We moved a year ago but Mrs and kids still work and go to school on edge of North Yorkshire moors. As soon as there's a whiff of snow, it's chaos. Quite a few steep hills and her mum and dad live at the bottom of a dip in a cul-de-sac. Needed 1st in low range for going down that but otherwise it wasn't really required. Just thought i'd take the opportunity to mess with it. Plenty of abandoned cars and wheel spinning going on up here yesterday. Then today, it's all gone without a trace. lol

I think it's good practice to bung it into low range every few weeks just to keep everything free and working. Or maybe that's my personal justification for fiddling with all the buttons :)
The only thing I can't do is get the High Range into 1 reliably.

Stop fiddling with the buttons and get your valve block rebuilt :)
There's adjustment on the selector cable where it connects to the operating arm on the box. Might just need a bit of a tweak.
It's a great team building exercise for yourself and Mrs Morat. She gets to sit in the car and exercise the gear lever. You get to lie underneath and adjust.

According to the spec in RAVE, overall final drive ratio in high in 4th gear is 3.13:1 and in low is 8.43:1. So as 3,000 rpm is around 80 mph in high, 3,000 rpm in 4th calculates to 29.7 mph which sounds about right from my experience.

The difficulty in getting into 1 may be down to the cable being a bit stiff rather than adjustment. If it is you'll get it so you can get into 1 but then can't get into P. All 3 of mine move nice and easily over the full range though.

There's a red line on that rev counter for a reason!
Mind you, by the time you hit it, the lifters will have pumped up, the valves will be floating and it'll be self-regulating to an extent. I'm pretty sure there's a rev limiter built into the ECU as well. Never say never though- I'm sure you could grenade it if you tried!

No more than travelling at 80 mph in high ratio with the radiator partly blanked off would. The only thing with using low ratio is that the engine is spinning at normal cruising revs but there'll be less airflow through the rad so it might start to get a bit warm. But, if it's possible to travel at 30 mph in low ratio, you probably don't need to use low ratio anyway. I used it the other week to drag a 2+ tonne trailer up the side of a mountain (which the car can manage easily in high without the trailer) and 15 mph was about the maximum I achieved.
