Help!
My wife was driving and after returning to the car she said the alarm sounded when she tried to start it. I don't know if she locked it. Possibly not.
Now I can operate the door locks with the fob but the engine won't crank. There's no eka warning on the dash. I tried Eka unlock via the nanocom but no change.
I also (foolishly?) tried to unplug the siren and found out is IS battery backed...

Is this the loss of sync thing? Is there anything I can do?

Hopefully Marty will drop by with the magic answer, but you should be able to read the BECM and ECU sync numbers with the Nanocom to check they're the same. I don't know enough about the Bosch to suggest changing anything if they're not though. I wouldn't want to suggest anything that'd fire it into "proper" lockdown<br>

Sorry for the false (ish) alarm. Once I realised that it is supposed to crank when immobilised it all became clear.... she had left it in drive and I didn't notice.
DOH!!
So, whether the EKA reset was necessary I don't know... once the alarm shut up and it was in Park - order was restored.

So glad we hooked up the siren again :evil:

I can only add one word - plonker. Although I must admit, I've done it a couple of times and turning the key and nothing happening does make you fear the worse rather than looking at what the dash is telling you. There's a D shown there to give you a clue.

My other half did exactly the same, she parked up at work and left the shift in between reverse and park, I wasn't happy after walking a mile at 4am to find that was the problem,, Gotta just smile and grit your teeth,, 😁

I've done it before aswell...

Usually I'm really good at putting it in Park, but one day obviously forgot.. turned the key.. nothing.

I'm sure my heart skipped a beat, then I looked at the shifter and called myself a couple of choice words, back to park, and she fired up..
You would have thought that there would be a 'bleep' and message for that, like there is for 'select neutral' when the transfer case is changing and you shift into gear...

I've done this before too a few times, usually after tinkering with the dash and then wondering what the hell I'd forgotten to plug back in!

At least the battery works in your siren ;)

Land Rover produced a modified siren for sensitive souls that, much like a mobile phone, just vibrated gently when activated. For some reason it never really became popular...

Technique has improved.

In the sixties I've seen a guy plunging into a harbourdock with his giant Buick Electra, all he knew was he had to firmly pump the throttle while starting to let her fire up.

Then see to it it's not in reverse...
