Boring question time!

Currently I have a pair of Britpart's finest £2 wiper blades on my car. Stuck them on an Island order to get free postage... as expected, they work about as well as 10 year old dried up blades pulled off a barn find. Chattering on the way up making a lovely noise.

I'd like some nicer looking (and preferably better working) flat blades - but I'm not sure what to go for. I'd also like the passenger side to be a bit shorter than standard, the overhang on all the blades I've had in the past bugs me.

Thoughts? Riveting stuff.

Hmm, flat blades really aren't all that special in use. I had some on a Fiat Coupe and went back to normal for the next set. They do make you look like the sort of person who'd fit blue illuminated wiper nozzles.
Woops :)

Ho hum

Mmm I do recall having a cheap set on an old car and they were rubbish. They never actually stayed flat.. so the middle of the blade was always off the screen! That said, the Bosch and proper BMW ones I've had on other cars since have been fine.

Zzzzzzz
Well the standard sizes are 22" (550mm) Driver. 21" (530mm) Passenger and 19" (475mm) Rear. All universal hook type.
I usually wait for GSF or similar to send me one of their 45% off offers and find that Bosch live a bit longer...
EDIT: Lubing the hinges on the arm and making sure there's full and free movement helps a lot. They tend to bung up with crud which leads to judder, especially the back one.

Bosch live longer, all that matters is the 9mm wide wiperarm to fit on the blades and choose your own length.

Plus, besides you already have the Thor engine, it's a further free upgrade to the latest models P38! ;)

I've had Bosch Aero ones on mine (Can't remember if they are still on there - I need to change them again anyway as the rubber dried up whilst I was away working and it didn't get used)..

I will be going for the standard ones, rather than the Aero style as I'm not THAT impressed with them. I hate the overhang on the passenger side - I think that you might get away with 20" on passenger side to avoid the overhang altogether. I think mine are both 22" and the overhang is definitely more than an inch on the passenger side..

I had a really good set on one of my P38's in NZ - always had people giving me stick about them as they were yellow rubber (on a green P38!) but in some of the storms we had, they did the job nicely!

Sorry I thought I'd replied!

Thanks for the code :) I tried to find the ones I was after on GSF, but it seems unless you specify a vehicle, you can't just search for items. Unless I missed something obvious.

In the end I ordered Bosch AR19U and AR22U off eBay, for just under 20 quid. 19" still has a bit of overhang, and you can see the blade isn't quite straight when its parked. I think the wiper arm itself is too long really, but oh well. At least they wipe well, and look a bit nicer than the standard type.

I think one day I'll have to grease the linkage, as that's making the most noise now. One day = never / when it breaks.
