Hi All,

Two things ... how to post photos, and, I have a lot of stuff saved over the years from various web sites explaining how to.

I could share this, but how to do it?

To post pictures you need to upload then to a hosting site like photobucket (which is the one I use) then, when you are writing a post and want to insert an image, click the insert picture button and put the url of the photo you want in the box that pops up.

I use my Facebook to upload photos and just set the FB setting for only me to see, then click on the photo and right click copy the link then paste on here.

Yes, it doesn't matter where the photos are hosted as long as there is a url that goes directly to them.

Step 3 is simply pasting the url of the picture in the box.

Archived pages on other websites can be done just the same only using the link button (to the left of the image button) instead.

I really need to fix this.

Any Python programmers fancy knocking up a wee image hosting platform? ;-)

How much space do you have on the server? You might be creating a bit of rod for your own back here...

"Not Loads" but I can spin up a Kimsufi box for about a tenner a month with 2TB of storage. That ought to be plenty. I suspect I'll need a chunkier server anyway since this VPS is tight on memory.

It would be nice to have a basic image hosting thing that ran alongside the forum. Always irritating when you come across a great guide from 5 years ago, and the OP has used a Photobucket/Flickr/Imgur/image-hoster-of-the-year account that has long since expired... and all the images are now dead links.

Good.

There is some good stuff there amongst the junk, for example, how to change the Bosch ecu cooler fan, which I did yesterday.

Can you download as well, or only view?

Thanks Peter, I've just added the link to the How Do I Mend It sticky in oily bits so all useful stuff is in one place.
