Well done. Putting stuff back together is dead easy and much quicker than getting it apart. Even if you decide to polish it all before putting it back on.

And She's back together :)
Sadly I was a bit short on ATF. I did 4x500ml syringes worth but the ATF didn't come up to the fill hole and it's not like it's a super accurate process so I'm going to get some more fluid before I drive her, frustratingly.
I'm very glad to have the Duchess back on the ground, with only small divots in the tarmac due to the weight and hot weather. Oops :)

Yes, it takes 2.4 litres from completely empty and 2 litres if it's been drained. It's probably very close to full but I bet you spilt some, I have every time I've tried to fill it.

The syringe was really good for a tenner. The only spillage was when I squirted the ATF in a bit quick and didn't give it time to flow into the guts of the transfer case. She was also a bit down at the stern on the stands which won't have helped with the measurement.

I'm having an eye injection today, so depending on what state that leaves me in I might pick up a litre of DexIII, fire up the EAS and measure again.

Having looked at rave again I should have used hylomar on the drain/fill plug threads. Bah.

Would you rather be fixing the car or having an eye injection lol? What's up with your eye anyway? My eyes were perfect 10 years ago, seem to be getting poor at increasing rate.

Fixing the car! well, as long as I'm not stranded on a motorway :)

I've got eye piles, basically. My right eye had a blister under the retina* a few years ago that caused some vision loss, now that damage has had a blood vessel pop through it. They're trying to shrink it back with an injection of something called Avastin. It probably won't restore any vision but should stop it getting worse, which is a bit crap really as my right eye now has a very pronounced "Hall of Mirrors" filter.

Anyway, it was a bit less fun that I thought and now I've got a bloodshot and weeping right eye. I can deal with that but what I wasn't ready for was I'm not allowed to wear my right contact lens for a week and I can't do anything potentially mucky (ie crawling under a muddy P38 and whacking it wtth a spanner) for at least three days.
So, I'm sadly frustrated because I want to get in the Duchess and see if the Viscous has made a difference!

Reminder to myself to tell 'our lass', she's particularly squeamish about needles being stuck in eyes lol.
Always getting crap in my eyes, maybe happens a bit less often now I wear glasses... which is the only positive of wearing glasses. Can't see bugger all through goggles / masks under cars so never used them. Never had a proper pair of glasses, I don't see the point (pun?) as my eyesight seems to be changing so fast... I just spend £20 on 20 pairs of plastic specs of varying strength every time I pass Poundland lol. 1.25 strength for driving and seeing far away, 1.25 or 1.5 for general work on cars, 2.0 or 2.5 for reading/computer/phone, 3.5 for close-up fiddly stuff like soldering on pcb's.... it's a pita! Don't seem to have to pull my eyelids open and swipe with a Qtip to remove bits of rust/spots of grease as often now at least. Once went into the house with both eyes feeling like there was a 1cc bit of grit stuck in them, filled the eyewash container with what I thought was Optrex and put it straight to my eye, soon realised that Optrex bottles look very similar to minty mouthwash bottles lol. But all seems to pail in comparison to your eye situation - good luck with that and with the viscous.
