Located in Bangor North Wales - there is an Indie if Llanfairfechan ( about 8 miles from here) - snag is I've transferred the insurance over to the TD4 Freelander.
I'll see how I get on with the software and will probably seek more advice later.

I did find this, and noted It was all very civil back then ! : https://www.rangerovers.net/threads/info-eas-troubleshooting-tips.4468/
Does Storey Wilson still post on there ?

Sorry Hugh, went off on a tangent there; Storey Wilson is our EAS hero....!.You'll see why for yourself with his software.....

No seen Storey on there for years. I did email him a couple of days ago with a question on using EASUnlock on a Classic and he replied within 24 hours so he is still about and just as helpful as always.

Re-set the EAS issue with the free diagnostic and the 35MPH warning disappeared.
Got everything running and the height adjustments just about got there.
Gave all connections and pump sections a good spray with Fairy liquid - no bubbles, but compressor carried on running and wouldn't shut off.
Stripped down the air compressor and the piston seal looked like an exploded mattress - so have a repair seal kit on order.
Fingers crossed all should be well later on in the week.

Yep, that'll put it into hard fault as its not seeing correct pressure increase over time.

You may still have leaks withing the valve block. Internal on the valve orings,

Easy enough to repair just need to be methodical and very clean.

Thanks for that, I didn't know there was a time factor for the pressure to be achieved.

Ya' learn something every day.

If it is trying to change height and it doesn't happen within a certain length of time, it decides there's a fault so shuts down. I suspect you were driving around with one light lit and the other flashing while it was trying to do something but couldn't as there wasn't sufficient air there. The two big clues to it needing attention are dropping while parked overnight or taking a long time to rise when it is started.

Mine drops overnight, sometimes. It's quite annoying because I can't isolate it to one bag/circuit as it squats at the rear, evenly across the axle. It's worse if parked nose uphill and if I park it on the level it takes 2-3 days to drop. Once pumped up it works fine, although I suspect the compressor is running more than a 10% duty cycle so there's probably an issue somewhere.

Maybe you don't actually have a problem, maybe it's just trying to self level. If you remove the delay timer relay while it sits and it doesn't leak down, you don't have a leak.

Harv is spot on, it shouldn't drop at all. My Ascot hasn't been run in at least 4 weeks now and is still sitting at high where I left it. If you pull the timer relay from under the passenger seat when you are going to be leaving it for a couple of days and it doesn't drop, it is self levelling. If it does, you've got a leak.

All done - back on the road for approx £30 - software / connector + compressor seal kit with a cylinder - really simple job
All height functions working well, compressor not running anywhere near as often as before.
25 mile run today - no problemo.
Freelander TD4 now in dry dock as a reserve.
Thanks to all for the great info

and they say that the EAS is ridiculously complex, needs expensive diagnostics and it's much easier to spend £400 on a coil spring kit than try to fix it.... As you've now found out, with the cable and software you can do your own diagnostics and all you need to do is watch for anything that doesn't seem quite right. If you think about it, if they sold a brand new car that sank to it's knees overnight and took at least a couple of minutes to rise back up again, people would complain. It didn't when it was new so, as long as you are aware of what to look for, it won't now.
