I'm 99% certain I'll be getting new front tyres after the curious case of the Locked Viscous... but I thought I'd lob it in and chance it. I'd rather get the tyres myself but I ran out of time after the reminder popped up on my phone. I think I'll set a month's notice next year and put it on pay day!

God no, they're fierce as hell but she's had a lot of work since last year. She did pick up an advisory for a rear wheel bearing last year which I have missed :/ I wonder if they've got a 20 ton press...
Or whether I should get one :)

How the hell did they pick up on a rear wheel bearing? You won't get slack in them as there's a half shaft attached to the back of it and they'd never be able to feel any roughness in rotation as it's attached to the diff.
I have no idea. Maybe they're covering their asses for the whine from the diff?
Anyway, failed then passed -
Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Nearside Rear Exhaust fumes causing a danger to health of persons on board pipe broken off rear flange (6.1.2 (b) (ii))
Repair immediately (major defects):
Rear Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (6.1.2 (a))
After they fixed that she got through with no advisories - which is funny as the rear arch damage was listed last year and hasn't changed :(
I've noticed that, some testers invent advisories on items that aren't actually part of the test. Damage to the rear arch would only be relevant if it has created a sharp edge that could shred a pedestrian, then it become dangerous condition see 6.2.1 here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles.
Best one I've seen was Sump rusty.......
The arch isn't sharp and it didn't attract any attention this time round- even the front tyre got through without an advisory. It is correct that it passed as it has at least 1.6mm over 75% of the tyre but it doesn't look pretty as it's the outside edge that is worn. Maybe they're busy? :)
Apparently I have rusty coil springs on the front of my Jeep... ooh noes! :)
Back from a week on the boat... what a lovely relaxing ride back that was. Today was one of those days that it's all worth it :) I even got to off-road for about 10 yards when pulling over to let a police car go wailing by. <smugface>
She also survived 10 days stationery without the battery going flat, which was nice.

She's what's known as a Sponsored Boat, so we paid for her to be built, own her and take a cut of the rental. It isn't a get rich quick scheme by any means, but she washes her face and we get free holidays which works out great it you like canal boats, and we do :)

Ah right yes :) 47 foot canal boat. Built for comfort over speed!
(but for a canal boat she's quite nippy with a 42hp engine)
But the most important question is, could I water ski behind it?

Used to do water skiing as a kid, more often drove the boat while dad skied. Once skied from Abersoch to Shell Island (around 12 miles) about a month before having a hip joint replacement, knew it was gonna ache, could hardly walk but still insisted on immediately flushing the engine and polishing the boat. If the tide was gonna be out when we wanted to come in we'd just drive the boat (on plane) onto the beach with the drive on release, had to time that well so you didn't drop off a wave nose first onto the beach... Then you'd kill the engine and skid about 30 yards onto the beach, climb out, fetch the Landrover down the cliff path/cutting with brakeback trailer and recover the boat.
I'd like to see you haul our narrowboat behind a Landy, even if you could get it onto the beach :)

Yes I don't think I'd try towing the narrowboat and definitely wouldn't try launching/recovering it on a beach or taking it down that cliff path.. struggled enough with far smaller boats! But I think it's illegal to take vehicles on UK beaches anyway now with exception of councils may allow parking on designated areas of certain beaches. Used to be able to drive the Landrover onto the other (Southern none boat launching designated) beach at Shell Island in Wales and could maybe have got all the way to Barmouth on the beach... but only ever got as far South as the nudist beach before Barmouth lol.

First spotted with binoculars when fishing off the boat but didn't look for long since dad and grandad were with me, we had a laugh about it though. Dad let me use the Landrover, I knew it wasn't far down the beach, at maybe 14 had to have a ride down the beach to check it out eh! Got as far as some old bloke walking bolx naked by himself who gave me a funny look and turned it around. No fit birds bah lol.
