I've had the old bus on the road for a few months now, and driven her when i can..

I could leave her for over 2 weeks unaffected..

However i didn't have the interior lights connected...

Yesterday i connected the lights, and the day after the battery was down to 9v, even though they didn't stay on...

I've recharged the battery and all is well, it is important to know, she had sat a week, before i added the lights...

I noted the Map reading lights in the main front light didn't work, could the car still pass a currant through even if the bulb was kapput, the oddity is BOTH map reading bulbs are knackered. which seems unlikely to be coincidental?

Where did you disconnect them? Could be glove box light or sun visor mirror lights?

Here are a couple of great tools in the never ending chase for current drain. If you look at the back of a fuse you will see the pins are exposed (or should be) at the top, flush with the top of the fuse. You take a volt meter (digital is best) and set it to mV. Put the probes on the top of each pin and see what the reading is (if any) i.e. the voltage drop across the fuse. These charts give you the current drain at that fuse in mA for each fuse size. The beauty of this is that after letting the BeCM go to sleep, you can check all of the vehicle fuses and circuits for current drain in a couple of minutes.

Hiya Richard..

The Footwell lights and sunvisor lights are ok IIRC..

The battery could be left for over 2 weeks without issue, after plugging in the Centre main interior light and rear interior light, the battery was flat within a day!

Odd.

I know that my centre interior light is/ was very green inside... if yours is similar, could there be a short across tracks? Also, there are some pretty crappy swiiches in there for the reading lights, one of those cd have gone haywire. Fit a 2nd hand unit and see ?
