I just drove to Swindon from Yorkshire so I can help* Marty replace the heater core in The Duchess.
The gauge on the dash showed 1 degree pretty much all the way and my feet had nearly fallen off by the time I got to the hotel.
Holy crap, I can still feel my toes warming up, three hours after arriving!
If it wasn't for the heated screens, it would have been lethal. As it was I had to wipe the drivers window when I got to a roundabout. I'm looking forward to a nice warm drive back North!

At least you've picked the warmest day of the year to hang out in Marty's workshop. Should make your sitting around the barbecue in shorts and tee shirt an experience reminiscent of Summer Camp.

EDIT- down here in England's greenhouse it's currently plus 1.8 degrees, gusts to 15mph. According to my weather station that's giving a "feels like" of minus 1.6 degrees!

A quick suggestion Morat - and at only £10 it will save each finger/toe from frostbite at only £1/digit !

I had to do a quick visa run last month and Taiwan was the cheapest, so that's where I went.

Looked on weather before I went and was horrified to see it was 14 degrees and rainy. Fortunately Madam dug out the jacket I'd bought in Melbourne about eight years ago. It's the only warm piece of clothing I own and I'd have died without it.

I was frozen as soon as I got out of the airport and the hotel had centralised air-con belting out, I walked around for a couple of hours the following day, got frozen again and diving into a likely looking bar, froze in their air-con as well. Never been so glad to step out of Manila airport and into 29 degrees. It was bloody lovely.

I know, I know, I'm being a nesh git and cold never used to bother me, but it's amazing how quickly you get acclimatised to the heat and anything less is a killer. So bollocks, the next via run (in three years time) will be somewhere a bloody sight warmer!

I have loads of exciting photos to share, but I'll spare you... I'll just say that the new hosing run is much neater than the original and I'm one happy camper.
Of course, on the long day it was 2degrees max and today when there was jus the plumbing under the bonnet left to do it was 8 degrees, but I was still smug at 22 degrees and AUTO on the way home. I no longer have to switch on all the seats and screens on startup.

No harm done! I think it's time to get some Gliptone, the cracks at the front of the bolsters are starting to show.

I'm sorry - I didn't realise that you wanted the seats removed for cleanliness - I thought you were asking if they needed removing for access, or the job.

Next time I work on anyone's vehicle, I'll remember to buy some of the disposable suits that they wear for forensics.

Morat is very particular about his seats. You're lucky not to have had a close examination of your seating area :)
