Hi all.
Had my Vogue SE for a few weeks now and very happy with it. Just wondered if any body can help with a bit of info when these were new. My car has the Hurricane wheels. I know the SE came with Comet wheels but could the Hurricanes have been available as an option. Also on my car I have a lightstone and Blue steering wheel the blue matches the seat piping and again wondered if this was an option as I have read that all SE came with I think an Ash grey steering wheel.
Cheers.

The VSE (01 MY 02 model) was right at the end of P38 production so LR were pretty much using up what they had left on the shelves.
While the official spec sheet had Comets and Ash Grey steering wheel there's a possibility that either a PO has fitted/ specified the colour coded steering wheel and Hurricanes, or the factory did 'cos the shelves were empty!
David's VSE has a black gearchange, which he believes is original, rather than the Lightstone that the spec says should be on there, so there's variance across the model.
IMO the Comets look nicer than the Hurricanes though- even if they were "borrowed" from the Disco :)

Thanks for your reply. Mine also has a black gear shift so again this could well have been from the factory. All interesting stuff.

I would quite like to know how close to the last car produced my car is. Can this be worked out from the VIN number ? After the Triumph Stag I owned it seems production history details are a lot harder to fined for the RR. Also I have found some parts are also hard to find new. Trim clips in lightstone especially. With the Stag just about everything was available.

The SE at my local scrapyard apparently had hurricane wheels when that went in.

Leather looks like new. You had it redone or dyed it?

Your interior looks lovely. I will try to post some pictures of mine when I can. At the moment I am slowly working through the car. The only problem I have at the moment is the HEVAC has the book symbol on the display. I have replaced a faulty blower motor on the driver side as it was blowing full all the time. I also think I have to replace the passenger blend motor as there is no temperature change that side. All the other motors seem ok. The aircon doesn't engage which I assume is because of the faulty blend motor. One it's replaced I will see what happens. I suppose it might need a recharge.

Chris- refurbished the seats myself. They were in a pretty nasty, dirty, cracked and torn state when I got the car.
Rob- the interior is coming on, but still much to do with the back half. Headlining will be replaced at Summer Camp, but the loadspace and rear door cards are pretty beaten up.
As for the HEVAC, getting the codes read is the quickest way to get towards the root of the problems. A Nano Evo or similar is pretty indispensable if you're planning on keeping things working in tip-top condition. Bit spendy at the moment as value of pound has dropped, but will save it's cost after the first few code reads and fault code resets.

Seats look mint. I'm well impressed. Was it you that posted a link to a leather dye/clean/repair website that had videos of a guy showing you how to do it?

Before and after pics would be even more impressive.

Looks great mate. My interior is pretty good but if I wanted to make it mint, I reckon that's the way to go. That dye work on steering wheels? I've got the half wood half leather jobby but a bit of the colour's worn away on it.

The dye will work on any leather. You just need to send a sample to Liquid Leather to get the right colour

That just needs a zebra skin dash and wheel cover to finish it off :)

For some reason they got cross at Longleat when I tried to peel one of their Zebras and fake fur just won't cut it, so I'll just have to be satisfied with the mirrored headlining that's going in at Summer Camp :(

You have to soak the Zebra in salt water for a couple of days first ;)
The mirrored headlining sounds great!
