Hi everyone I got a tip to come here from range rover.net --- second best bit of advice I've ever had --- 1st was getting a P38
I am a mechanical engineer by trade building marine diesel engines for power . My hobby is classic cars and hotrods --- have worked with various companies on a weekend basis to hone my fabrication and spraying skills. Have a 1962 ford consul low rider ,1965 rover p6 2000 with a Buick 300ci V8 , 1998 4.6 HSE and daily use 1999 vogue SE

I was born in Kentucky & came here as a kid my mom was from jarez in Spain. -- long story but V8s seem to be in my blood 👍 Apparently other engines are available 🤔

Welcome to the pub. Don't know who pissed you off at RR.net but it is not as bad as it used to be.
The same Supermod runs the show on both now.
Lot of newbies on RR.net now asking dumb questions. Too lazy to look things up.
It is a pity you are not into diesel p38's with your experience.

Hi Symes, just read your interchange with 'sully' on rr.net; What an idiot ... Not sure what his problem is but it always surprises me on Forums when folks ask such questions, ie "how can I make my car illegal/dangerous ?".... and then they don't like/take the sensible advice they are given !

Exactly mate --- you wonder what the point of bothering ---- I think it's either lockdown effected brain or that he just doesn't like anything non American --- still at least here is full of mildly insane people --- got to be with a P38 in your life --- bit like cuddling a tiger ---- waiting for the bite

Welcome (at last). My stable currently consists of two P38s, a 1996 4.6 HSE Ascot and the everyday car, the ex-GMP Motorway Patrol car, a 4.0 litre auto in a very weird spec (got the useful options, front fogs, headlamp wash/wipe, climate control but the cloth interior from a base spec (which wouldn't have had AC), no cruise control) both on LPG and a 1990 Maserati BiTurbo Spider E.(2.8 litre, twin turbo V6), while the missus runs a Merc SLK280 (3 litre V6). I went to my local factors one day and asked for a set of NGK BPR6ES plugs, was being served by one of the new guys who didn't know me and he came back with 4 so I told him I needed to change both banks, surely anything with less than 6 cylinders is just a starter motor for a real engine?

As for .net, it seems to be getting worse by the week. Full of people that expect to be able to buy a 20+ year old car and be able to take it to a mechanic when it needs fixing. If you can't fix it yourself, you've bought the wrong car.

I may be a mod on both sites but here it's just deleting the odd spammer than manages to get through the security, there I'm dealing with about 5 spammers a day and editing posts and warning at least one poster a day.

Hi there! Nice to have marine diesel powering the pub :-)
It is a fascinating world someday I hope to dwell in - as an user, lol!
I have never understood the logic behind the P38 section on rr.net, and happy not knowing ...

More to the point, I've never understood the logic of the L405 forum even more. I mean, forums are for people to ask how to troubleshoot a problem or how to fix it once you've done the troubleshooting. If you've got an L405 and it goes wrong, you take it back to the dealer to have it done under warranty surely? If you don't understand how to turn on one of the, ever more complex, features, you read the bloody handbook!

Welcome to the source-- I mean it- "Gilbertd" is one the many fellow pub members who help to prop up the other website once it was destroyed by the new corporate owner.
