According to How Many Left, there were only 298 P38 Vogue SE A models ever produced (or registered, anyway) for UK market.
In Q4 2015 there were 248 left on the road or SORN.
Haven't yet been able to dig deeper to see what the total production run was. There's not much info around the model out there on the web.
Interesting to know what I have resting in an oily misfiring puddle in the workshop anyway.

That's a pretty good survival rate!
I've saw a few for sale when I was looking for mine, but as you say there's so little info out there to be sure of what it actually meant. Of course, half of them were probably just Vogues with an SE badge.

Whereas mine is an SE without a Vogue badge, or a Vogue SE badge. Bet they're REALLY easy to get hold of, although they're still listed as an LR part.

That is something different from the Classic days, if you wanted a CSK badge you had to show your VIN.
How do I find out the origins of mine? Also by VIN somewhere?

If you're lucky Tony, you can stick the VIN into Microcat and it'll give you all the build and trim options fitted.
Any of the online decoders will give you the basics that you already know!

Vindecoderz only comes up with the year of built and type of engine (I knew that already), estimated mileage (259.000 km, wrong it's 190.000 km) and an invitation to pay for more info.
I don't have Microcat, but can a dealer supply this info if I pretend to have lost my EKA? (Which I haven't)

Nope, mine's metallic blue (think it's the same shade as Gilbertd's pimpmobile one, paint code 602). It's GEMS and badged as Vogue SE.

Looking at UK registrations and dates the 300 x 2002 model year production looks like the UK allocation. The 98 and 99 production solely for export perhaps?

The book says that the first Vogue SEs became available on 1st August 1998 (220 made). Then there was the second limited edition Vogue SE from December 1998 (105 vehicles - UK only). The third edition of Vogue SEs was produced at the end of the 1999 model year. The fourth edition was 2002 (400 vehicles).

It's a very reasonable price and once I've thrown a bucket of soapy water over mine I'll advertise it at that and it's bound to sell instantly :)
