Cheers for the advice guys, going to wait for my Nanocom to arrive next week then order 4 new bags and a 30m roll of piping then renew the whole system then Its all sorted for the time I will be owning the car!
Are the Dunlop bags what was fitted originally?
And do you guys know if it’s 6mm or 4mm airline to the bags / reservoir?
Plus while I think about it is there any other “while your in there” jobs that I could get done while I’m working?
At the Driver or the ECU? Or both?
Got a Nanocom in the post so I will do some proper fault diagnosis next week I think. Might jut do all the bags, seals and re-plumb the airlines once I’ve been paid
They do look like they could be the original bags. And the cars got 137K on it
just trying to replace all the cheap stuff first before moving on to doing the bags. They are on my list, just want to make sure the system is 100% before doing them.
I checked the bags for leaks and they seem to be all fine. I’m going to re-plumb the whole system too as I’ve come across about 4 repair sections on various hoses while I’ve been leak finding. Just waiting for a nice weekend and the pipe to turn up
More thinking of a long term fix as my drive is on a slant anyway and it goes ballistic when I shut the car off. My wife has stolen the flat car port so I have to book in with her at the weekends to get the P38 in there for repairs!
Can anyone confirm the trick to disable to self levelling? Figured I would do a full leak check plus saves wasting that precious stored air! Is it still the case of removing the timer relay and replacing with one of the normal yellow relays? Then just keep the big one in the car encase of fault diagnosis.
Means I could measure each corner and see if there are any leaks between the valveblock and the bags
Think I’ll get that in order and I might replace all the lines when I renew my valve block seals in the summer. I can just do this one pipe to save the compressor, then do the others slow time
No worries, got bored last night and pulled my switchpack apart and did the repair on it. It was full of 19 years of condensation and sweat so a quick clean later it almost worked. Then a quick Lube with some PX-8 of the Runners and it seems to be temperamental but working. Think I will keep my screw driver in the glovebox for when it snuffs it again and it starts to rain!
Turns out it was so jammed up it thought it was trapped so the anti-trap feature was just cutting the motor straight away. I don’t know how long the switch has been broken so it’s probbly the first time the sunroof has been operated in a while.
Just going to get a whole new second hand mirror, seems easier that anything else. Might have to wait for next month, the wife is not happy with the army of delivery drivers at the house delivering parts for the Car!
