HI yes he did use a tamper meter but it was the fact he made no comment about the noise clicking ect but i will get the diagnostics checked just to be sure .
I now have to sort a leak on the drivers side carpet definitely not heater pipes as there is no anti freeze taste but gonna wait till the snow clears first if it ever does thanks again
Well i finely fitted another switch in the dash for my low range as the original one on the selecter started playing up again i need my low range as moveing caravans on the farm in this weather aint the best without it .
But some good news passed mot on monday with no faults and only one advisory slight blow on rear tail pipe not to bad for 210,000 miles.
I havn,t looked at the cruise yet ( weather ) and the brakes are ok very good readings on the mot so all good for now but who knows.
Thanks all of you again.
Will do thanks
Hi i had to brake hard yesterday and the birreing and clicking sound on the pedal and brakes went hard for a second then back to normal this happend at a low speed , Basically moved forward 3ft then stopped ( traffic lights ) car in front moved of then decided not to .Anyway as i said braking from any speed above 5mph is great its just this low speed problem also do not no if this is related i could drive all day or 10 mile sometimes after being parked up i drive of and the abs and tc comes on the dash drives great leave car over night start next morning abs / tc light still on/ drive a mile or so lights go out and do not appear again Help thanks again
Hi i have the thor engine so i will check the pipes and the other parts.. As for the brakes the disc are nearly new i have just fitted a new acumerlater but has made not much difference i am not loseing any breaking power in fact the brakes are brill it is just the very last second before stopping
Hello guys well low range is now working thanks to you guys .
But i do not no why ? i took apart the console ect i took the top of the gear selector which was very loose i found the limit switch and unplugged and took that out i then checked the black wire in the loom had continuity to earth and it did .
I then checked the switch with the meter a bit fiddly so not sure it was working so i got the mrs to help and checked again and it worked on & of , i then reconnected it and turned the ign on and lights come on the dash .Then i put it all back together and everything is working as it should . i do not no why there is a few wires going to the switch when only 2 are used i am also considering fitting a switch of a manual gear box as i no limit switches are not the strongest items in the box any thoughts on this idea
All i have to do now is sort my c/control not working and sorting my brakes making a brrrrrrrring /clicking noise just before coming to a halt at slow speed new pads fitted front and rear calipers working fine.
I will prob start another post about these other issues if that is the correct way to do it.
Anyway sorry for going on a bit but thanks again for all your help
steve
Hi again so i suppose i am looking at major surgery to get at the wiring , and remove the gear stick assembly to get at the switch as i suppose the offending wire or wires go every which way but loose around the car lol thanks again steve
Hi i assume that the switch is the limit switch on the gear selecter if this is not the case were else would i look thanks again
Hi guys well i earthed the purple and green wire on the ecu and low and behold i had lights on the dash and the low range lights on the gear selecter flashing.
But what is my next step and what do i look for thanks again for your help
Thanks i didnt think i was doing it rite i will check it as soon as i can thanks again or all you help
Hi i forgot to ask before but when checking the the ecu should i have disconected it or left it conected as i said i am not that good when it comes to electrics thanks again steve
Thanks i was going to look on there but if you all don,t mind can i slip another question in here , when i was locating my ECU i found the EAS ,ecu and wondered, can i remove that totally as my r/r has coil springs fitted no switches on the dash no level valves ect but EAS compressor is still there but will this create other issues sorry to add an exctra question thanks steve
Thanks i will get another one nothing ventured nothing gained as they say got to be worth a try
Hi checked the wireing around aux socket nothing amis there that i could tell . I checked under the pass seat and found this . bosch auto box transfer controller ecu igg 100030 that is what as written on it unplugged it and found there were only about 10 or 11 pins being used and i could not see a purple/green wire .
So i see this other ecu behind the trans ecu so unplugged that totally different plug but there as a purple /green wire so i earthed that still nothing .
Now i then put a fuse in the position 11 under the drivers seat and box went into neutral no drive at all /so i removed the fuse and after a slight clunk got drive back .
I hope what i am saying is understandable sorry if it is a bit confusing thanks steve
Sorry to keep on about this problem but could this be related i fitted another power socket for a forward faceing camera , i wired it direct to the wireing of the socket in centre console would this have altered or upset something thanks again for all your advise
Thanks i will look at that but it will be friday before i get a chance to look now thanks again
Sorry pressed wrong button have i got to look for anything in particular on the ecu thanks again

Thanks for all the input were is the ecu and what am i looking for and how easy is it to get to sorry for me being a bit thick when it comes to electrics but how do i check it
