Because I have a tendency to pester certain people in the forum way too much, I will throw this one to the masses...

Got the new bolt and the battery is hooked up. It didn't even ask me to re-sync the key fob, though I don't use the buttons because they are in such bad shape.
Anyway, I am now getting Alarm Fault - and I forgot what that means. Owner's manual just says to contact dealer. That certainly won't be happening.

Any ideas? I am sure at least 10 of you have had this problem before. Thanks in advance for any help.

Greetings all. Would anyone be able to send a quick pick of the battery cable hookup configuration on a circa 1999 P38 Diesel? There is a possibility that mine is not hooked up correctly, which may be the reason for some of my battery issues. I could guess that one of the recent garages might have done something odd with it, but since I can't watch over their shoulders, there is no telling.
One of the reasons for this is that I got a few new cables being the old positive connector is broken and won't stay snug on the terminal and the new one doesn't match the configuration of the current cable in place.

Many thanks for anyone with info to share.
Teri

I purchased a 1999 P38 in June of 2016 - and after 9+ months I have finally brought it home. The story is long and full of villains, however, it is finally in my care. The driver side rearview mirror is smashed, due to the vehicle being parked outside of one of the mechanic's shops for a few months. Need to know where to obtain a new one here in France. Also need to find a new mechanic (doesn't that seem obvious?) Vehicle seems to drive okay, but over 90 km per hour it starts to shake a bit. Any ideas on what might be the issue here? This is my first RR, though not my first suv.

Thanks in advance for any input/advice.
