I fitted PolyBush (Comfort) Blue bushes on mine about two years ago with no noticeable issues as yet. Now looking for a piece of wood LOL.
Car is only used on road and towing tin tent.
I bought one of those two piece headliners, it's still in the garage !!
Covering was damaged because of poor packaging, as well as no tbeing fully covering in places and having some ripples.
They wanted me to pay to return it and then inspect it before a decision on refund ??
I've now decided to strip it and recover it myself and see how it looks.
Just one of those purchases that you wish you hadn't made Lol.
Very sorry to hear this, our thoughts are with the family.

Whats Russells modulator upgrade?
It's the replacement of the two plastic disks in the modulator with stainless steel. I believe that the 99 onwards modulators had them as standard.
If the disks fail a complete brake failure can happen.
A clicking on brake application can indicate that one of the disks if starting to fail
If you google Brake modulator BMR kit there's a lot of info.
Just finished a complete re-piping of the car, both rear calipers, new pressure control valve for the rear brakes, Russell's Modulator upgrade with new reservior and a new accumulator.
Bled the brakes using the RAVE procedure and all seemed well.
I had a "pressure switch fault" show yesterday on the Nanocom after dash warning lights, which I've put down to driving off the drive before the ABS system was up to pressure fully and having to brake a few times on our tight housing estate, dropping the pressure below switch limits.
I've done the pressure tests and the accumulator is filling in thirty seconds give or take a second.
With the ign on, the pressure is dropping to pump run again in between four and a half to five minutes. Not constantly the same time, once actually went over six seconds before pump run.
I'm taking it that my pressure relief switch is okay but I may have a slightly worn pump or pump non return valve.
Sods law, going away with the caravan next week but luckily I have a second hand pump and pressure switch which I'm taking with me just in case.
I'm thinking that the pump should be okay for a while, what do you guys think ?
Might also be something a simple as the idle control valve needing a clean, as they do sometimes gum up and stick.

The only problem with a second hand one, is how good is it ?. I’d keep going at getting your one apart, where theres a will, there’s a way, if it means smacking crap out of it, do it, if it means a small chisel or punch to get it moving so be it, plugs of various sizes are readily available from any plumbers merchant.
No10Chris, the only thing is that it's the piston behind the plug that's seized.
The plug came out reasonably easily, then turned it over to access the remaining piston.
I started off with a small brass drift but ended up with a socket and extension and giving it some real grief but as I said it's solid.
Sod's law I've managed to slip a disk, so the cars having to wait until I'm back on my feet but the intention is to rebuild the "previously owned" one I've now received when I can.
Removed my ABS unit today as part of a brake overhaul as I've been getting brake fade, even on smaller hills.
Don't think I'm getting any rear braking looking at the disk wear pattern.
So modulator removed following Russell's fantastic step by step instructions.
Removed piston and springs behind the pedal rod to find both plastic washers in fine form, no cracks or any issues.
Removed the allen keyed cover to removed the piston carrying the filter piston, Russell says may require firm tap but should move easily............ not a chance !!!!
Sods law..........absolutely solid.
Looking at the rest of the unit I think I've had water ingress and the filter piston has rusted/corroded into the aluminium.
Tried heat, bigger hammer but it won't move an inch.
Given it so much grief that the face is now damaged, so second hand one purchased from the "bay".
Just need to decide whether to fit it as is or strip it and replace the washers and seals from Russell's kit.
At least I've now got time to replace the brake pipe work while I'm waiting for the unit to arrive. LOL
Hadn't looked at the fuel cost but I've kept a record from 04/2014.
Ave mpg 14.9 at a cost of £4198.80 over 15,824 miles.
I'm not going to add the costs of MOT, Tax and Insurance lol !
Being a little bored over the weekend I had a look at the cost of mechanically owning my P38 over the last eleven years.
So far it's up to about £9100 and in all fairness that includes,
Top hat short engine including new oil pump
Replacement Bristols Auto Gearbox and associated cooler and pipe work
Virtually a complete brake overhaul including washer upgrade to the modulator (parts ordered ready for next week lol)
ACT Carbon fibre inlet trumpets
Tornado chip ECU
Light mist respray
Both front wheel bearings
Fuse box
120 Amp Alternator
Starter motor
Mild steel exhaust
Nanocom
Engine Radiator
General Grabber AT tyres
Viscous coupling (transfer box)
1000CA Battery
Poly bushes (blue)
Then there's the smaller things like,
Water pump and viscous fan
MAF
Mud Pod and engine gauges
Off side Headlight
Fuel Pump
Wheels powder coating
Etc
So it's looking like with the purchase price of £5500, I'm into the car for about £15000.
Which looking at the parts installed gives me a relatively "new" P38.
Happy days !!
Runs off quickly to find the biggest piece of wood I can find !!!
Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
I would love to know OB how you got the old light unit away from the ball and sockets on the mounting ???
Or was it as the picture shows, by the delicate removal of the actual headlight lol.
Yes, guilty of having my location in North Wales.
A Happy Easter to all,
Just found the site during an afternoons googling !!
And it would seem that I am also a disillusioned RR. Net member, my last post was met with, "this is mainly an american site", Hey ho !
Anyway, names Nick, had my 97 4.6 HSE for over ten years now.
Installed a top hat engine and just over two years ago a Bristol Engineering auto box. Also has a Tornado chip with ACT inlet trumpets and an EAS isolation kit .
Love the cars all around ability and the fact it tows our tin tent effortlessly.
Jobs for this year are rebuild of the ABS unit with the stainless washers, all the rear brakes, lines etc and another go at the headlining.
Oh and replace an offside stone cracked headlight.
Nick
