Nice little run then. The last couple of summer camps at Marty's have been over a weekend so some have stayed in a local hotel on the Saturday night with a beer or three in the evening to make it worthwhile. Morat's skills with the barbecue have to be sampled too.

Impressive thread.. Gordon could set up a link from the home page and name it 'Why you should want to be a member of this forum'.

So I guess we need to think of a date :)

Sorry I'm late to the party. I'm away working at the moment and haven't stopped in a couple of weeks...

I have the press tools and special tool to do the front bushes, but I don't have the tool to do the big one on the rear though as apparently that is a slightly different size to the ones on the front!

Dates... I'm working away until early March, but will update when I know more!

Late March works for me as it's the end of my Holiday year... I doubt it'll be sun tan weather like it was for the headlinings!

Having just done my bushes and also all the steering parts on the front I can say it pays to shop around on prices. Sometimes Island4x4 was cheapest and sometimes Paddock Motors. Also some of the bolts were cheaper on Ebay. Often they are used on other L/R models and sellers bulk buy them.

So, I guess it's over to Marty for possible dates.
Have you got any clues as to your work and availability yet mate?

I know for a fact he is to the wall with work for the next couple of weeks and they are certainly going to be long days.

I will be seeing him on the second week of the job as it turns out we do the same thing!

Might have to put all non-essential work on the Range Rover on for a while hold.

The gearbox in my girlfriend's Freelander just shat itself. No reverse gear. Looks like the most likely culprit is a snapped reverse gear band inside the gearbox.

It's a gearbox out and dismantled job which means I need to send it to a garage to be done. I don't have the time, space or tools to do that at home and certainly not in this weather!

I'll have to excuse myself from the meet up for now, until we know what the repair cost is going to be.

Shouldn't be a problem, everyone knows women can't reverse......

Well, she did somehow manage to somehow reverse the Range Rover in to fence and smash the inner tail light unit on the tailgate without harming the outer one...

I got in, expecting it to work after cycling through the gears and turning it off and on again but nope - reverse gear is dead.

Had to push the car backwards in neutral so she could turn and drive it forwards. That thing is harder to push than a P38!

Yes, flat out with work at the moment... Mid to late March is probably going to be good. I need to actually look at some dates I've been sent through and see how they fall in relation to everything else... But maybe 23rd/24th March? Or 30th/31st?

23/24 works for me, 30/31 doesn't
Glad you're busy - are you in a reachable timezone?

Ok, I'll make a note of 23rd/24th in my calendar and attempt to keep that free...

I'm in the UK working at the moment... I know.. shock horror actually being in the country for a change!!

I've just been informed that her Ladyship is away 23/24th so I'm out for both the last two weeks in March. Bogus. Any chance of April 6th/7th?

I'm going to have to confirm that I can't make it.

The Freelander is having to go away to have it's gearbox rebuilt at an estimated £1200 plus nearly 2 weeks of hire car costs as the repair place doesn't do courtesy cars.

There's a surprising lack of people that will touch automatic gearboxes. I've called several places and been turned away as they don't do auto boxes. One was even a company claiming to be "Freelander Transmission Specialists" - they don't do ANY gearboxes, manual or auto! I think they need a new name!
