Does anyone else feel like the oily bits and electrickery is a false dichotomy... I just find myself having to look in more places anyway, and when doing bodywork/ interior, where does that go?

Good point, maybe we need an Interior and Trim section......
Gordon has been threatening to do an upgrade so that would be a good time.
Me? I just read everything anyway.
'cos you just never know when that little snippet of information will come in useful!
The site's mine because I pay for the hosting and the domain name. But really it's yours because you are the folk who post here and who have made it a friendly and cohesive community and that is far more important than a box of plastic and metal and some assorted magnetic domains on a spinning plate of rust.
If you've got any suggestions on making things better I'm keen to hear them!
For myself, I just hit the portal tab each time I drop by which seems to bring up all of the recent posts, so what section (or new sections) they are posted in doesn’t matter from that perspective. If there is a decent search function then having multiple sections shouldn’t matter either.
All of the above being said, I do see the logic in broadening the number of sections to include “What a Body!” (and chassis) and perhaps a dedicated for sale/trade heading for those that like to go hunting on a particular topic.
I'd add a "whats new" button..
And an interior - chassis - body - for sale -
Sections!!
What would go in Whats New? Because it wouldn't be new in a couple of weeks? Maybe a Body and Interior section but not much more. If it's split down too much then most posts will be in the wrong place.....
I think the "Portal" button is basically the same as What's New - isn't it?
I use the Portal button as well, just as I use the recent activity on LR4x4
Yes, there's the Portal button to show any new posts since you last logged in and the forum headings also show if there's any new posts so a What's New topic would be a bit pointless. Unless you have a different idea of what it would be used for that is.
Has there ever been the interest in a meet up section or something along those lines?
Not particularly, other than the odd local one arranged through PM, the only meetings have been the Summer Camps at Marty's workshop and they appear in Opening Time.
Thats easy enough then keeping it in the open area
A "blogs & galleries" section would be a good idea :)
