Hi all,

I found this today - enjoy it is 4 pages long and has some good photo's on it P38
cheers,

I thought I'd post what my piston looked like when I dismantled the compressor for the overhaul.

Piston skirt

I'm in Beirut for a few days working before heading back to Tanzania and after a drive around yesterday I swear there are more Range Rovers ( no P38's all 322's and newer, normal & Sports) here than I've ever seen in a small place. They are everywhere! I must have seen 20 in about 10 minutes. There are a few LR3 & 4's about and the odd Defender but it's RR's all the way.

Who would have thought it?

Morning all,

SWMBO has reported that on the local test drives that as the car is rising when the bags pressurise it's now feeling a bit jerky and making clunking noises (front and rear) as it goes up and down. I get her to put it up to full and down on the bumps at least twice a week.
Prior to my EAS saga caused by tightening a leaking oil cooler nut (other posts) and swapping out a leaking ROS airbag it was silky smooth with no noises.

Any ideas please? My thoughts (wet finger in the wind) is bushes but this is a new challenge from Rommel this time!

cheers all!

Afternoon all,

Just finished the RR airbag change, the old one was leaking. First time done, 2 hours start to finish. Not too bad I think. So whilst in the wheel well I noticed the drain hole in the bottom. Is it meant to have a bung in there or open to the elements?

Evening all,
there are some interesting pages on this site, his and her P38s. I haven't seen any of his pages before so this is just for info
P38 links are in there

Well I fixed my leaking oil cooler today! I had to move the airbox out of the way so I suspect that when I moved it I must have done something to the air drying unit without noticing it. I started the car up and suspension was on the lowest, I left it on normal setting. Left the door open and went inside for 15 mins thinking the air tank would be full when I came back. Nope nothing. Went for a very slow and uncomfortable drive with nano attached no faults showing. When I got home the compressor was too hot to touch so I guess that is working! Dark now but will get the soapy solution on it tomorrow when it's light and try and chase this down.

These cars are physic as I thought that I'd buy a full EAS o ring kit and do a full service. The car obviously picked up these thoughts and decided to help me along!

Hi all,

I've read up on Marty's and others on other forums but you all seem to have the Carlos Fandango HK or premium systems whereas I only have the Clarion with the iso connectors on the back and a u/s cd player in the boot. If I install an android tablet do I need an aftermarket DSP or similar between the tablet & speakers? I don't think I've seen a tablet setup in a non premium system :-)

I'm not shy of using a soldering iron or creating / modding wiring looms but I think with my bargain basement affair it might be an RCA <=> ISO plug adaptation.
Does anyone have any ideas please or am I on a wild goose chase?

Morning all,

I cleaned out all the dust bunnies the other day - it was clogged solid - and noticed that it looks like it's supposed to spin. I also have a (50) HEATER CORE TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND. (FAULT TYPE = CURRENT) so I realise this may be making my temperature fluctuate.
My questions: is that sensor motor spinning all the time? What is the part number for a new one if mine is shagged please? I had a look on Allbrit but I can't find that sub-assembly.

thanks all

Hi all,

I found your forum last week. Lots of info on here and hopefully I'll be able to give help as well as ask for it!
