I've just changed my tailgate straps as one snapped a while back.
The replacements I've put on are Bearmach, but both ends have been crimped on in the same orientation, meaning the cable needs to twist for one end to be screwed in. So the first time I close the tailgate, they twisted, and one had a chunk taken out of the rubber/plastic sleeve as it got trapped between the tailgate and body... no amount of changing the twist makes things good - they either get caught in the body or caught in the door seal...
I'll be returning these as they're crap, the ends also don't rotate freely because the washer type thing is too big and it ends up clamping down on itself.
Has anyone bought any that are decent, if so, who/what/where? :) Specifically avoided Britpart and still ended up with junk from Bearmach... sad times.
It may just be too low on gas to perform properly, but high enough the pressure switch hasn't stopped it running.
I'd say go to Halfords and take advantage of the no improvement no charge thing. It's something along the lines of if they can't get it at least 1c lower, there is no charge. They should recover the refrigerant, vacuum it down and refill it. Admittedly with an automated machine but still - short of finding a proper A/C place that do it manually its the next best thing.
They changed to plastic fuel lines on the Bosch/Thor setup. Still doesn't stop morons snapping them and repairing with crappy hose though, as we found out...
As much of a tit he may be, I don't think it's fair to publicly broadcast such personal info, so I've removed that. Sorry.
I'll be there :)
Not entirely sure on time but relatively early. Stopping by another owner from a Facebook group who can't get theirs started on the way.
Mine also passed its MOT, once I explained the P38 ABS light oddity :) My flexible polylock exhaust section that replaced my middle silencer was described as 'adequate' somewhat amusingly. No real advisories!
The red one is running well. No odd noises and so far, no leaks. From the engine, anyway. Of course, it wouldn't be long until the car decided to cripple itself again. Front passenger side airbag now deflating rapidly. Pair of front airbags on the way, if that doesn't solve it, valve block time.
Oooh if you wouldn't mind that would be great :) Mine often looks like its pissed at motorway height!
Does anyone have some EAS calibration blocks they could bring along?
Also decided to stay at the Premier Inn, because lazy.

I think the disco is still where we left it last year though...
Can we set fire to it yet?
I'd be cautious of using an airline as the hoses coming down from the sunroof are only pushed into the rubber bits that pass through the body. The rear ones on mine are only in about 1cm and it isn't a particularly tight fit. If you do have a blockage, I imagine they will pop out quite quickly on the inside.
The door open warning coming on and off and relay clicking at the same time will likely be being caused by a dodgy door microswitch. Cue Marty chiming in :)
Edit - removed thing about alternator fault as I can't actually remember if I'm right!
I shall pass :)
It's just passed its MOT too. One advisory - handbrake only effective pulled right up. All the others from last year now dealt with :) Mine's next this week hopefully... wonder if I'll be so lucky?
Screwfix no nonsense degreaser is awesome stuff - 5 litres for a tenner. Used in a spray bottle 1:1 with water it lasts ages.
It may be that the orings have now sealed up again with some lubrication. No real harm in continuing to use it - if it is still leaking, the low pressure cut off will stop the compressor running and doing damage.
The early cruise ECUs were a bit problematic from what I know - mine didn't work on my GEMS.
The paint on mine is a bit scabby too... one day, when I'm done with all the niggly bits, I need to get a few things sorted.
One day.
Ah, that'd be the the extra ground clearance model, right? :)
So that's TWO gaskets Britpart have managed to screw up - one of the rocker cover gaskets needed one of its inserts drilling out. I won't be bothering with any more of their gaskets.
It's done though - after spending nearly 5 hours trying to get the gearbox to line up yesterday, everything was plumbed in and finished off today.
I'm relatively certain this car is cursed. It's tried to set fire to itself twice, then tried to cook itself, and now, in collusion with the carport, its tried to crush itself last night...
The sag in the roof line isn't as apparent in the photo or as bad as it was before jacking it back up and jamming another post on the other side.
Need to bleed a cooling system with a car stuck on uneven ground? EAS and nanocom to the rescue!
Excuse the horrendous audio quality, and the berk looking to see if a hose is still leaking... it runs!

No more squeak and a thermostat that opens.
Next job.... oh look, another one with a hole...
Yeah its one from Island. I was trying to get it in by putting two bolts in one side, and then convincing it downwards to get two in the other side... but it just wasn't going to have it.
Thanks Mark - I'll give those three a try in the morning!
Such a pain in the arse. Just when you think you're getting somewhere, after totally not panicking about pulling more threads out while torquing up the heads, a bloody gasket stops play...
How can Britpart screw up a gasket? It was miles out.
