Hi Folks,
I had a interesting week, so to speak. I took my P38 down to my mates workshop and got it up on the hoist to replace all the suspension bushes, ball joints, etc. First up I removed the front arms and pressed out the front bushes, then I realized I would need to make some special tools to be able to press the new bushes in. So that was the rest of Monday taken care of, making tools to press the front and rear arm bushes out and in, and the panhard rod bushes out and back in. So then on Tuesday I replaced all those bushes and started on the ball joints and front axle seals. Wednesday I finished the Ball joints and tidied up a few other bits. Thursday I cleaned up my mess and and took the old girl for a test drive. The ABS light stayed on, so I plugged in the scan tool and it said the air gap on the left front sensor was too wide, so I gave it a bit of a push and a wriggle and the problem was fixed. I went home feeling pretty happy with my work. The car sounds a lot quieter on the road, and feels a bit firmer to drive. All in all I am very happy with the result. And Friday was declared a rest day.

Hi Folks, I have been having problems with my EAS lately. When I turn the engine off and the air pump stops working the valve opens and dumps all the air out of the tank. But all the air bags stay pumped up. I have checked the valve block and it all looks good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Alan

Hi Folks, I am thinking of replacing the height sensors on my 1995 P38. I see the later ones ( 1997 to 2002 ) are more readily available and cheaper than the early ones.
Can the later ones be retrofitted to the earlier vehicles and what would be involved?
Thanks,
Alan

Hi folks,
I have an engine light coming on regularly. When I check the codes I get P0327 and P0332, Knock background noise low, I have removed both sensors and cleaned the connectors and checked the wiring and it all looks good. I tried replacing the sensors with a second hand set and I still keep getting the engine light coming on. I have just ordered a new set of sensors and they should be here next week. Has any one else ever had these codes come up? If the back ground noise is low does that mean my engine is too quiet? But I think it would be more likely an electrical fault.
Thanks,
Alan

Hi Folks,
I have both knock sensors bringing up codes, P0327 and P0332, knock background noise high bank A and B. I did replace the right knock sensor with a second hand one and the fault went away for a while. Has anyone had this problem before? I can clear the fault but it comes back after a little while. Should I just buy 2 new sensors and replace them and see what happens.
Thanks,
Alan

Hi everyone, now I have my 1995 P38 going with a rebuilt motor etc. the speedo has not been working. The scan tool says speed sensor input out of range or something similar. Is there any way of telling which sensor is out of range, or should I just replace them all. I have another vehicle I could pull them from. Also another problem that may be speed related. While I was working on the my P38 I thought I would replace all the air bags, and I rebuilt the compressor and the valve block. And I made up and fitted a manual inflation set of valves. And a isolation switch to cut the earth to the relay under the passenger side seat. So when I got it going the air suspension seemed to work sitting in the yard, up and down. But when I took it for a drive, when I got up a bit of speed it dropped to the bump stops. So now I am driving the vehicle with the EAS turned off as when I turn it on it now drops the drivers side down to the bump stops and pumps the passenger side up to max height. Also I have an odometer error coming up on the message screen. Could all these be related? Also the scan tool has lost communication with the vehicle.
Thanks, Alan

Hi folks,
could anyone tell me the colour of the wires that go to the steering wheel controls on a 1995 P38. I have fitted an aftermarket head unit and I don;t seem to be able to get them to work. Although it could be operator error.

Alan

Hi Guys,
can anyone tell me if the sunroof from a L322 Range Rover will fit into a 1995 P38? Mine is rusted out around the frame that holds the glass. And the only one I can find at the moment is one out of a L322.
Thanks,
Alan

Hi Folks,
does anyone have any experience with the Chinese full alloy radiators that are advertised on ebay?
