What problem could allow the truck to rise when commanded to drain the air bags by the nanocom evolution? i.e. I told the nanocom to drain the rear bags and the solenoids clicked continuously as the truck got higher. The bags did drain but only completely drained after the second attempt with the nanocom.
A symptom I have right now is when I lower the truck it takes forever to actually lower on the rear. The front lowers rather quick. The solenoid clicks rather than just opening to drain the bags.

I made a video of the noises: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9ZX6nVdlgI

The exhaust solenoid is acting weird I think. The last noise is the strangest.
Other Issues related to EAS are.

  1. Truck rear will raise when driving.
  2. Whole truck will raise to wade height when driving.
  3. Truck will take forever to lower.
  4. If I disconnect the timer relay the truck will stay somwhat level for days.

I activated the pump with my Nanocom so the noises could be heard with no engine noise.

Anyone recognize these sounds?

I have several issues with the EAS system but two that irritate me.

  1. Truck goes to high profile setting while driving down the road. the light for high profile will flash as the truck raises but never stop flashing. I will immediately click normal profile to which it will return.
  2. I will go to lower the truck to access profile and the front will drop but the rear will not. Light flashes for access profile but never goes solid.

To save some time with responses I have done the following to the truck in the last while.
Rebuilt valve block and compressor 3 months ago,
Replaced Driver module with NEW,
Connector in footwell area removed and all wires spliced and heatshrinked,
Height sensors calibrated with wood blocks after Driver module replaced.

I finally got my gaskets to pull the exhaust manifolds for repair.
I was wondering whether anyone knows the size of the studs where it connects to the y pipe? M10x1.25x60 Maybe?
Also the size of the bolts holding the heat shields? M6 maybe?

Before I start, I have had this truck for 4 years now and I have never driven another P38 so I have nothing to compare to.

Symptoms:
The engine seams gutless and lacking power when ascending long hills.
My exhaust tips are sooty.
My Gas/mileage sucks.

Things I know are wrong with the truck engine right now:
Both exhaust manifolds have cracks in them on front 2 cylinders. I did not remove heat shields yet to discover any more cracks. Very audible from inside truck under load.
Leaking oil from front of both heads.
Leaking coolant from reservoir cap.

Things replaced or fixed to try to remedy this:
Removed SAI and replaced ECU with non SAI. This was not a remedy but this shit gets in the way!
Both Cats removed and straight piped. No codes from O2 sensors after this was performed.
Replaced both ignition coils.
Replaced spark plugs.
Replaced plug wires.

Engine runs ok and idles very close to smooth. I have Nanocom Evolution but I don't know how to use the info it gives me. Any help would be great. Thx

I have had this issue for a while and I am finally trying to solve it. Symptoms are as follows.
Driving in town and I will pull up to a stop light and notice the front is low. I then put on the park brake and take my foot of the brake. When I do this the truck will level out, sometimes in 10 seconds but sometimes longer. If I drive all the way to work without performing this procedure when I park the truck it will level once I put it in park. Sometimes the rear will move around while this leveling is occurring almost like a seasickness motion (like the bags are inflating in a circular pattern).

Before we start I will try to answer as many of the possible questions that I can.

  1. Driver module replaced - same symptoms
  2. No leaks detected on bags or lines.
  3. Valve block rebuild 3 times in last 3 years.
  4. Replaced all o-rings on bags and dryer.
  5. Swapped height sensors and replaced one where tab snapped off due to rust.
  6. Calibrated EAS using dowel blocks.
  7. Truck does not drop at night. Sometimes raises while parked.
  8. Truck does not move if relay is removed.

Any help with this would be great as drive-ability is an issue.

Previous thread had issues. Requested help with the thread and nothing happened. Decided to retry with bonus video.
I finally had to fix up the exhaust on my truck. Had multiple leaks and clogged cats.
Wife doesn't like the result but I love it.
Cats removed, Centre Muffler still there and both rear exhausts removed.

The forum lacks any active moderators or admin for solving any forum issues. If the forum is to grow issues need to be sorted or users will get frustrated and leave.
Just some constructive input.

Has anyone swapped a Bosch ECU using nanocom evolution. I ripped out the SAI on my truck and I am going to swap the ECU to get rid of the CEL and hopefully stop it from running rich (30L/100km Avg. right now vs. (19L/100km Avg. before).
I picked up a matching set BECM and ECU today for less than the price of the BECM anywhere else.
Marty I'm sorting the BECM first. Don't panic!
Any help would be appreciated.

I heard about this forum through a friend. Would love to see an alternative to the nazi mod/admin at rr dot net.

Edit: Guess I should introduce myself!
I'm Ray and I'm located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
2001 Range Rover 4.6 HSE (owned for 3 years now, first land rover)
I do all work on this truck myself. (with the exception of the rear brake lines when it was -30C)
I have a Nanocom Evolution if somebody near me needs help.
