I'm impressed with the quality of the Klarius from Euro Car Parts. They also list the rear sections as two parts, left and right, at very reasonable prices too, under £150 for both so will be worth waiting for one of their 40% off offers.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm after a set if I ever get mine back together. €104 for the pair on their FR site with code.

Also instead of using data for navigation there are some good apps. I use copilot, there is a free version but I paid about £20 for the whole of Europe and have been using it for about 6 years with no problems. There is also a really good free app called HERE , it was originally by Nokia.

If its the same device, it shows how to install a sim which will also allow you to connect to data instead of trying to hotspot with your phone.

I have the Alpine, thats why I thought it would have worked out the box. I put in the anniversary wheel, the cruise worked fine still.

I dont have an aftermarket head though.

I changed my steering wheel for one with stereo buttons thinking it would work out the box but I was told on other forums that there is no way to get them to work, surely there must be an interface or something to do with the steering cassette?

Yes you can Tony but they are originally secured by having the plastic molded to it so you will need to secure it in place to stop it spinning, shouldn't be difficult.

corner bolt removed. You can slide up a bolt from inside. There is room between the black shroud and the light case.

The piece at the bottom had to be cut through for it to be released. You can also see a better view of the missing bolt on the left hand corner

Top view, just for info on another bolt hole thats secured with a metal retaining clip. Easily replaced if this is a problem bolt.

Ok, managed to dig them out the back of the loft, as usual always the box buried deep at the back, lol.

I now need to find my camera as my phone is off for repairs but basically the bolt on one of the corners was removed due to it being rusted to the nut on the car. It could be replaced if I wanted to put them back probably by using a bolt and sliding it through the back and the securing it tight by using a nut on the outside so as to stop it from turning when tightening the bolt on the car body.
There is also some other damage, not sure but I think its where It had to be cut from the wiper section.

I will find my camera and upload the pics today.

They've received it back but have asked me to close the case otherwise they will be charged the refund on top of sending the replacement.
Oddly, there is nothing open in the resolution centre but a different returns page where it doesnt give me the option to close the case.
It simply asks me to come back to the page on the 30th Aug and If I havent received a refund to ask ebay to step in.
Has ebay changed its rules then, In that case they will have no option but to refund and I guess I will buy another from them.

Why does it lose the cd connection?
I use a Parrot ( non DAB) and can switch between all systems.
You can always rip your cds to your phone and play them via bluetooth.

I will have a look at the ones I took off when I changed them for L/H lights moving to France.
I remember having a similar problem getting them off.

My return should arrive back to Emmotts tomorrow as we had a bank holiday here so there was a delay. I will update.

Thats a great tip, I'm always repairing our dishwasher anyway so I wont be to blame should it fail after putting the cylinder head in it.

You do realise , Richard that you now have to match the bumper etc .

I originally tried those L322 grille upgrades but it still looked like it was from a different car so I just colour matched my grille with the car.Have also just renewed the chrome Range Rover logo with the newer 3d style and replaced the badges and wheel caps with the black style.

One cylinder head on its way back. 11.5 kgs at £25 from UPS which is actually very good for France.
Strangely the seller is unable to send me a return label via ebay but ebay says they will ASK the seller to refund the postage should I want them to.
Lets see the outcome. Will I receive a decent replacement? or will they just refund or worse try pull a fast one and create some bull about receiving the returned head.

Strange. I just opened a return procedure with ebay and its only showing a refund with the original post and doesnt include return postage. I thought if something was damaged/faulty the return cost was on the seller?

Its definitely going back for an exchange . I dont hold my hopes up on the replacement being that good either to be honest but feedback will be left accordingly, even with a replacement I will be out of pocket by returning this one and with their bad attitude it certainly wont be positive.

I have 2523 poss feedback on my ebay account.Never a single negative . Ive only had one previous problem from a buyer accusing me of selling fake headphones . I had really good comms with the buyer and I was in contact with Sennheiser direct as thats where they came from. To cut a long story short Ebay screwed me over. Because I didnt list my item as being located in France despite the fact I said in the listing they would be sent from France and that Id pay for them to be returned to France and give a full refund, Ebay said this was a breach of terms and let the buyer keep the headphones and gave him a full refund of £250, so I have no faith in Ebay after 10 years and about £20k in fees to them.
I told them to look through my contact with the buyer assuring him id accept the returns and refund of postage etc but they simply said I cant appeal and that was that.
Fortunately Sennheiser sent me a replacement pair for the hassle.

I simply contacted them via ebay but Im just wondering now, if I send the item back without going through ebay returns how that stands. If I go through ebay returns then I will simply get a refund but I really need the replacement.
What if they start playing games and say theyve received the item back damaged or something due to packaging and try get out of sending a replacement.

Here's their reply. Sounds to me like they knew they sent it out like that.

I am now biting my lip , trying not to reply. Just hope that when I return the item they will replace it but I feel that wont be the end of it.

Dear Paul,
Thank you for your complimentary letter which has a sting in the tail at the end.

Firstly, just because there is a broken stud in the exhaust manifold it does not make this item unfit for purpose, any motor engineer worth his salt would have no problem extracting this bolt.
But for good customer relations if you send back the damaged head we will replace immediately upon its safe return.
Secondly,I can not believe that a member of the Land Rover club would complain about such a minor over site and try and make it such a big problem.
