Thanks for the support , If I were in the Uk I would have probably tackled it but due to circumstances etc here, its just not viable.

I had a mechanic come round after I stripped it back down again who noticed that one of the pistons was shiny clean and the liner wasnt flush.
Though I couldnt feel the liner myself it makes sense I guess. I had cleaned the pistons before and this particular piston cleaned up real quick and shiny compared to the others which should have rang bells I guess.

It has been confirmed that its a slipped liner.

Time to end this love n hate relationship and stop pumping more money into it, shame as Ive literally replaced everything on it but the block.

Now the fun begins trying to sell it in France. I cant believe the prices of them here though , between €7k and €11k so hopefully I should get something for it as it is.

Thanks OB, Its sounds like something I can manage.

Was your clogged up or was someone just bypassing the leak?

I have just used a vacuum coolant filler today , the top hose and bottom hoses where the only ones to collapse under vacuum, not sure if it should be more.

The vacuum held at the recommended pressure so in theory shows there isnt an air leak.

I am still desperately clinging on to the last hope of fixing my car.

Just been reading up on Heater core problems and am wondering if this could also be a possible cause of my problem, maybe its clogged or something.

Whats the best method to bypass the heater core on a Bosch?

Used the Vacuum today, it held at the recommended air level so supposedly no air leaks but only the top and bottom hoses collapsed under vacuum, not sure if more should?

Guess what...... Its still buggered, I can still hear gurgling through the expansion tank when I turn the engine on and it still overflowes .

Thanks for both info. I think its a 1/2" but I have contacted Draper for spec. Just more annoying than anything as its more waiting around.

Always a problem.

The compressor and coolant vacuum both arrived today but the airline wont fit the vacuum due to them having slightly different connections.

The one on the Draper Vacuum is too small and wont clamp. I thought I could try swap one from the accessories that came with the compressor but the thread is slightly smaller than the draper and air escapes, so I guess I now need to try find an adapter.

Is this because the Draper is British and the compressor German I wonder?

I wish I could give you some input but all I can say is I hope it works out whatever you choose.

Always worth checking all the Amazon sites. DE. IT. SE OR FR.

Ive even bought UK imports yet it was still miles cheaper on Amazon.FR compared to Amazon.UK where it was being Imported from.

Ive been wanting to get a compressor for a long time, so now is a good excuse. £60 for this Einhell seems ok.

I tried all methods posted on here before and now TNA.
I have found the Draper Coolant Vacuum for £45 so will give that a go and at least that will clear my conscience that I tried all possible before getting rid.

Might give this a try. Coolant Vacuum filler. Any one used one?

This has been an ongoing saga Spiggy. I cant afford to put any more into it plus I only have the curb to work on it but thanks for the thought.

Oh I hope you are right Richard, I really dont want to give up on it especially as Ive done so much to it but I cant help think the problem is elsewhere.

The RAVE makes it sounds easy to bleed. Question, Rave states to stop when the top hose gets warm, how important is this as It hardly gives me a chance to get the circulation going if I do.

Its not looking good.

Still the same problem.

Just spent 2 hours trying to bleed it and still continuous air coming through. I can hear gurgling in the expansion tank but oddly cant see it bubbling.

If I leave the engine running for more than 2 mins it will overflow again.

Pretty much everything but the Block has been changed and thats a job too much for me.

Not sure how easy it will be to sell for spares/repairs in this country as usually you have to get an MOT to sell it regardless if it passes but I wont be able to get that if I cant even drive it.

I will keep trying to the end of the week otherwise its Au Revoir .

Yeah, I had looked for concentrate TNA. I think its green but it might also be yellow, will double check.

I thought there was only one set of xmas lights? Its all the EAS plus the disengage/off button.

All back together. Good news is , it started and sounds sweet.

Bad news is the xmas tree lights are on. I suspect I have had a lot of water ingress through the pollen filter cover and its affected the electrics.

I cant fully test the car until I get enough coolant , tomorrow hopefully.

I am a bit suspicious of the coolant Ive been buying, Its only €10 for 5 litres and thats actually the more expensive one but it states -25 to + 125, Should I be looking at a more specific type?

What I find strange when it comes to MOT for belts is that if you have a child seat fitted they will simply put unable to test. If anything it should be more important to test it working properly.
