Is that 3-5 working days, 3-5 public holiday days or 3-5 days without a Y in them?
Ah, now your talking about PHLPost. Couriers are normally three/four days but if stuff is sent by post, well.
I think they have two postal services; "Soon" which is like express delivery, only much, much slower, and "Later" which is similar to "Soon" but takes even longer. I've had a part manage to take 28 days to travel the 13kms from the airport to the central post office. I know traffic can be bad but even so...
Their vans have "Mail, do not delay" on them, they should add, "We don't need your help"!
Oh, they do have another service called "Scotty" but we won't dwell on that. :-)

How does price compare with the £35 or so over here?
Nearly treble! At current rates it's a hundred quid.
I know that sounds steep, but if I order from the UK there'll obviously be shipping, but the big mystery is how much customs gouge me for. I've never been able to work out how they calculate duty, outside of chicken bones and a spot of rune-reading,
I've paid anything from 10% right up to 100% and don't forget, they charge on the part and the freight. So coming from the UK, it could still easily be as expensive as ordering this one. At least I know up front what it's going to sting me!
I'm going to pop in an see them next week, as they want 50% up front, so I'll have a gander at their set up
Well, they sent me a pretty picture from a parts book asking me to point out which bit I wanted, although I'd already given them the part number. So I did and it's all gone quiet!
Update, I take it all back! Just had a quote with 3-5 day delivery.
I think you'll find that's Recipes Sarap pa Cooking Animals.
Or, to give it it's English title, 101 Ways to Enjoy Your Pet.

Britpart ANR3323 isn't too spendy. Now you've got your very own Britpart warehouse over there why not just stick one on? Same faffing as fitting a tee to bypass and the worst it'll do is leak like the old one.
So just for the craic I mailed Britpart Philippines today and received a very fast response. It said:
"Dear George, we will need the VIN of the vehicle to process your request." Seems reasonable. "By the way, what is a PCRV?"
I've explained it's the thing under my bonnet currently dribbling fluid like an incontinent Labrador.
Chances? 😊
Fair point, well made, however, and I'm guessing here.
Britpart will not stock any '38 parts as hardly any were sold here. So that's probably out.
I am unable to order from overseas at the moment so looking for a short term solution. Looks to me like a couple of inches of pipe and two female fittings would do it.
It's the "why nots" I'm looking for really.
Before I did anything to the brakes, the PCRV had a small weep. Nothing to shout about, but...
Now I've rebuilt the modulator and the ABS pump, the PCRV now become the weakest link and is fair pissing out. I have the plans for the PCRV mod off the other site but, as yet, have not found anywhere that gives me the confidence to make me one.
So, insurance and C&U regs issues aside, which don't come into play here, has any6ine tried a temporary delete?
I don't run loaded, neither do I tow, so it doesn't have too much thinking to do!
On the compressor, air con lines and alternator I used carb cleaner and a soft brass brush. The engine had been lacquered at some point, but the cleaner stripped it off and it all came up a treat.
Don't think it says the wheel/tyre combination, but on mine with 265/70/16, I just had to set Standard a couple of cms higher to clear on full lock.Extended is as per normal, as is highway. If I need full lock at over 50mph, it's likely that a tyre rubbing will be the least of my worries! 😃

Thank you.
To be fair Martys tracking only took as long as it did because of the bent adjuster on the track rod.
Ah, that was my Friday. New track rod fitted, ends nominally the same distance as the old, then up the road, stop, adjust, down the road, stop adjust, etc., etc.. Got there in the end!
Sounds like you've got the pump cracked anyway 😊
Nice work!

That's alright then, just as long as you weren't taking them to the doctor.......
:-)
You'll be fine. It'll be the same as refurbishing a valve block or modulator. Don't rush (although I know you have a deadline) and just work your way through.
Good luck.
I saw the word "diesel" and knew it was you! 😊

I use red rubber grease. Mainly 'cos I bought a tin of Castrol about 40 years ago and it seem a shame not to use it up!
Silicone oils are good but possibly a bit too slippery in some places. Had some bad experiences with (other folks!) inappropriate use. Its the very devil to get rid of it completely when its got in the wrong places.

I could be wrong, but there may be way too much information there?

Ah, oops. I did miss the bit about taking the brake off and rolling with the autobox and I guess I took a meaning that wasn't there from the rest. Sorry!
No apology needed whatsoever. It's the problem with the online world.
If we were having a beer face to face, there'd never have been a misunderstanding anyway!
I'm having one now though 😊
A beer that is, not a misunderstanding!

Again, I'd say that's an issue of only using it in the correct conditions. City driving at slow speed with constant stopping and starting isn't cruising - why should cruise control work in this condition? To be pedantic, won't the autobox keep you rolling at very low speed on it's own, no cruise control needed?
Same with the road condition preventing its use. It's designed to be used in a certain set of circumstances. If you find yourself on a road to which it's not suited, it's not a fault of cruise control. Just because it doesn't work well for the conditions you're driving in (bad weather, poor road surfaces, city traffic etc) doesn't mean the system is "bad" or pointless.
To your first point, I wrote that I just release the brakes.
On your second, I don’t believe I said it’s the CC’s ‘fault’ or it's ‘bad’ or even ‘pointless’
All I was doing was pointing out horses for courses and that CC really isn’t suited to roads here – because of the roads, not the CC!
My main issue is that I just don’t like it. End of.

I do like that little sport button. It surprises a few people when they they're being overtaken up a hill by a P38 Range Rover.
I’m 100% with you here though! :-)
If you can find a cruise control system that will keep you rolling at 4kph, then that would be great for driving in this city. Me? I let the brake off.
Even on the highway it's difficult to maintain a constant speed due to big holes, stray buses and a myriad of other mobile/static (that should be mobile!) obstacles.
On top of that, I don't like it, never have done. Simple
Driving down Leon Guinto Street in Malate, heading for Quirino around two hours ago in a red 4.6?
I was just walking over to 7-11 to get the wherewithal for a beer charge.
Funnily I found the tailgate light out this morning. I know it was good yesterday as was checking all the lamps.
I hit it. Problem solved!
