Having had the Konis on for a few runs now and all it's shown is that I need to do the rears ASAP!

Having arrived in Manila on the 26th February, I found out this morning from DHL that it has finally be released from customs.

Ten days for them to work out they can't hit me for (even more) duty!

It will be with me tomorrow.

Having changed the plugs for a set of Champion I had lying around, a couple of weeks ago, I sourced and fitted NGKs this weekend.

Back to starting on first turn and no stumbling. I reckon the Champs had managed around 60km!

Rented a house today, with bloody huge garage.

That is all.

Hmm, mine has two rear facing seats, which never get used, so them out along with the old CD player bit, there's a fair bit more room.

Virtually all the fuel here is ethanol, so can't be avoided. Mines an early '95.

I only do half a tank at a time (due to a goosed tank seal) so fuel pretty regularly. Not a problem, so far.

Just opening the wardrobe door.

It's come the pretty way.

Larnaka - Athens - Milan - Leipzig - Hong Kong - Manila.

At least it should have some air-miles on arrival!

Fitted Konis to mine, only the fronts so far, but feels okay.

May I recommend Scotty off...oh, hang on. 🤣

Just received email and invoice for repair.

Sent payment.

Feel better already!

Fitted new Bilstein steering damper in 25 degrees on Saturday.

Made a huge difference.

That's the problem with electric, it can flow both ways. I wonder how long you could run a house for on a Nissan Leaf?

Probably longer than you can go between power cuts, or, "brownouts" as they are euphemistically known as here.

I'll be having a nose on Saturday.

What? You are having cosmetic surgery? Lol.

There isn't a knife big enough to make a difference!

Nothing actually done, but today I've sourced a full set of Koni shocks locally for a similar price to shipping Bilstein's from the UK.

I'll be having a nose on Saturday.

And a steering damper.

Anyway, I still like my DHSE, so there, although I see the day in the not too distant future when it will just be left in the drive as a nice place to sit in the summer, because the repair costs are too high and no one will buy it - except, perhaps, for our friend in Manila.

Pierre3.

Looks to be in nice nick, but not for me.

One, you can't import anything RHD.

Two, it's a DERV burner.

Three, it'd cost more in bribes, sorry, tea money, than the vehicle's worth!

But thanks for the thought. :-)

Here there's no mention of EV's and there's hardly any hybrids around either. They are way too expensive to gain traction at the moment and then there's the issue of the (lack of) reliability of power supply. Chances are, you'd plug it in at night and in the morning find that Meralco has sucked every last squiggly amp out of it!

Another welcome, from Manila.

I've run mine for 7 years now with no (apart from self-inflicted) major issues.

Wouldn't be without it.

A while ago, I was bemoaning the gradual loss of screen function on my Nanocom Evo. It seemed to coincide with firmware updates, but that could be coincidental.

Anyway, after a nice little exchange of mails with the very helpful Blackbox girls, just over a week ago I parcelled it up and sent it on holiday to Cyprus courtesy of DHL.

Despite not having needed to use it for a while, I feel completely naked now it's not sitting in my centre console!

Nothing actually done, but today I've sourced a full set of Koni shocks locally for a similar price to shipping Bilstein's from the UK.

I'll be having a nose on Saturday.

Try the experiment I mentioned. If it does not seem to work, drink that one, and make a bigger G&T.
Repeat till it works, or you forget what you were trying to prove!
Cheers,
Tom

Whether you are wrong or right, I love the thinking! 😄

Nice one, what did you do with the brakes? You don't normally get too much travel when they need bleeding.

Put several litres through them, much to My Little Brake Bleeders disgust. Every time I'd pop up from underneath to top up the reservoir I'd get, "All done now, Daddy George?" The sort of brake pedal pressers equivalent of, "Are we there yet, Dad?" 😀

To be fair it's probably three years since the rebuild and they were last done. Feels much better now anyway, and it only cost me a teenage Filipina sized breakfast!
