The next problem will already be on its way- you just haven't noticed it, yet...

Its a love hate relationship for sure.I still keep asking myself why.

I must admit gold doesnt sound good and I actually dont like gold in general but it goes well with lightstone.
I changed all the black handle surrounds and interior door locks into lightstone as well . Gold and black probably wouldnt go.

My mrs is always loosing the cutlery as she takes it to work but quite often doesnt bring it back, Im even missing crockery but will she admit it.

Took my door cards off real easy to replace my handles and lock surrounds with gold ones.

I just used a fork and broke off one inner prong leaving just the right size gap for the clips to fit in between and lift up, it works with all clips around the car such as the wheel arches etc.

Callrova sorted mine in a few days.

In 2009 I got the "R/H front door triggered alarm" message and couldnt start the car. I sent off the BECM in the post and it was back in a few days.
Think it cost me about £80 back then.

Plugged it back in and all was fine. I havent had a problem since even when I disconnect the battery for days.

For the sake of elimination and a few quid , Ive ordered a new cap along with the block tester kit. should be here Monday but I think that was the start of it before it overheats then overflows. The needle goes from dead centre to red light in seconds .

I will have a closer inspection, It was replaced 18 months ago and on last inspection looked ok.

Just looking into buying a block tester kit £55 looks like a standard piece of kit, always useful to have I guess.

Ok, just went out for another ride as the last bleed gave good flow.
Went about 3 miles and stopped for a walk. Checked the header and it wasn't overflowing but the cap was hissing. Returned to car and the level was half way between the cold and the top with the cap still on.
Drove home ok, but it is still hissing .

I usually lose a few litres from it pissing out the overflow but fortunately the area I'm driving round is where I go walking. So I go for a nice long walk first to let it and me cool down.

I have been keeping pre mix coolant in the boot as I wouldn't be able to get home without it.

No no nooooooooooooooo.

Only managed a couple of miles . Checked the coolant level this morning and it was fine. What the hell.
Just bled again whilst at the side of the road and its flowing nicely, if it fails again then I will have to change the thermostat just to rule that out .

I was so hoping its an air block but I have hot air and its flowing ok with the cap off. Its overheated so many times now that the head gasket will probably need changing anyway.

I will give that a go myself if all else fails as I will have nothing to loose trying.

Not counting my chickens but I managed a high speed run without glitch.

I wasn't getting any bubbling when trying to bleed but still wasnt getting a steady flow.

I decided to disconnected the hose from the header that goes to the metal pipe and rejoins with the hose as apparently rust can cause it to clog.

It seemed to flow freely when disconnected but maybe it dislodged something in doing so as I was able to rev the car for ages with the cap off without it overflowing , it would start to rise slowly at idle though when revved again would flow as it should without overflowing.
Left it a few hours put the cap back on and it seems ok as I wouldn't get passed a mile before and managed about 5 just now as I didnt want to push my luck with no sign of overheating or overflowing.

Thanks . Cant believe what a bitch it is.

Worth a bash at that price OB, cheers.

I hope you're right Gilbertd but I'm doing it by the Rave so dont know how else to shift it especially as Ive just drained it to fit the pump.

I dont have an IF thermometer OB but I will add that to my tool list

I have a horrible feeling it might be a head gasket.
Even though there is no sign of water/oil mix. Just reading that if the HG has gone the exhaust gas will cause pressure back up into the expansion tank.
The strange thing I'm getting is that even with the cap off the expansion tank will overflow with the engine on meaning I guess its flowing from the radiator to the tank but not flowing from the tank to the engine. Surely it cant still be an air blockage.

Thanks for clarifying Gilbertd.

OB, sorry for not being clear, I meant that the water pump had this substance on the front exterior and quite a bit of it to.

Anyway, I'm still overheating above 2k rpm so its not the pump at fault.

Grrrrrr.

Its not the water pump.

Guess the next thing to change is the thermostat .

It only overheats above 2k rpm

Changed over today.
Took me about an hour rubbing off the old gasket.
The old pump looked like it was covered in some kind of rubberised filler, so whether it had a major crack or something in it before.

I am concerned though as one of the long bolts was covered in oil.

Cheers Morat. Found identical one on ebay for £50 delivered.

I have that one OB but the second one I have has better flexibility with a narrower tip.
Its listed as £10 but I only paid £1.74 Although its Rolson it helped me out yesterday considering how heavy the pulley holder is.

I have 2 magnetic pick up tools because I forgot I already had 1 in the first place, so now I have more to forget I have.LOL.
