Just did a 300 mile journey no problem but a day later after 3 miles it shot into the red.
I checked the coolant and the tank was empty.
Filled it up but it only took about 2 litres left it overnight night then topped up another 1 litre.
No leaks any where, checked the engine oil and no sign of mixing.
Drove out and again after a few miles shot into the red.
Left it a while and again coolant tank empty. Topped it up again.
Drove another mile into the red again only this time the coolant was still full then oddly the temp gauge fluctuated and dropped back down to dead centre.
I'm wondering if its an air block. I cant remember should the pipe from the radiator into the engine be hard, Its hard to start then as it cools gets softer or does it sound more like a dodgy pump.
Update. Just took the expansion tank cap off and filled up with the engine on whilst squeezing the pipe. Is it normal for it to start overflowing with the cap off.
It doesnt seem to be over heating now but I have no hot air.
I posted a glitch on there.
I think there is a gremlin here.
I cant see updates on this post.
I had my screen replaced some years ago and watched them. As far as I can remember the connections are only at the bottom . Im not sure if they are attached to the screen or maybe replaceable as they actually left the old ones in my car.
My old screen was doing the same and sporadically heating. I had a stone chip that turned into a crack right across the screen on a cold day.
£60 excess from my insurance company I got a replacement screen.
Just did a change.
Bought this pump for £20, the same as Martyuk suggested just different brand names.
It worked a treat .No difficulties in sucking and pumping despite the manual actually states its not recommended for gearbox oil.
It was very fast and took no time to do 4 litres.
Just did a change. Got 4 litres out and the same back in.
How hot can these things get.
Just checked it after being parked up for 45 mins and its too hot to touch.
It sounded fine to begin with but now sounds like its about to go bang, though it is only held down with 2 bolts at the mo so that isnt helping.
2 hours on bump stops, That's determination.
Glad you sorted it .
The brass seating ring is grooved for the O ring to sit in. Others Ive seen are just solid brass rings without an O ring.
The kit comes with 1 tiny and 1 large O ring for the top chamber and a plastic type Diaphram for the piston, no other o ring for the brass seating ring.
Why is it the small jobs always end up being difficult.
Decided to change the seals.
All pretty straight forward but getting the brass seating ring off the piston was a nightmare. Especially when the piston is made of cheese.
Managed to gouge a few pieces out of the piston but luckily didnt effect the seating of the new Diaphram .
My brass ring also has an O ring in the middle which others dont, Although that seal was broken I managed to reuse it as I didnt have a replacement.
Overtightened the bolt holding the compressor to the EAS box and sheared it off.
Luckily its working nicely despite the problems.
Sounds like my bar is different , its more or less straight.
Bought the MF31-1000 and its a brilliant battery. I think I bought it from Battery Megastore via Amazon but I also remember a 5% discount code given if you like their FB page.
As already mentioned its a tight fit with the leads but I never had the problem with the retaining bar as others mention . I have a metal bar retaining my battery that is height adjustable and fits fine over the top , so not sure if its the same as other models.
Thanks Chris , it was only for a few scratches so I wont be needing anymore but thanks for the offer.
Unfortunately I'm discovering that with Britpart as I ordered a few Britparts from Island 4x4 which are faulty but the lack of response from the dealer isnt good either.
Now you mention the wheels, it rings a bell and probably has a lot to do with my ride but I dont remember it being as rough as it is now.
Despite changing my air springs my ride still feels very bumpy in that I can feel the road grooves and holes quite a bit.
I'm assuming that maybe the shocks may need changing to.
Just been looking at the dealers and there seems to be quite a selection.
Britpart Cellular Dynamic look within a good price range at £35 a piece, I wouldnt want to spend much more but less is a bonus.
Any recommendations. I dont do offroad .
Damn, I paid £26 delivered from ebay. Rimmers is it.Cheers.
Anyone know where to get decent touch up paint.
I just bought some from ebay advertised as genuine Land Rover. I have code 602 Oxford Blue yet the paint I have received is more black and the labeling looks photocopied.
You might also find this useful on how to claim from pothole damage though proving it in your case my be difficult.
What did you use to replace the rivet that was holding the bottom on ?
Ok. Just seen a video of how it should work and Im concluding mine is faulty. Will get int ouch with Island 4x4.
Just had another play and it doesnt spring up. Its holds it up but doesnt spring it up. I am able to position the lid at any degree and it will hold it there but doesnt attempt to raise it up further.
